Finnish Lapland is covered with snow, part 2.

Today we were walking in wonderland, so it felt. The weather was a m a z i n g. The main reason for a walk in wonderland was to hunt for grouse but none was found, even though our "wide rangers" were working their hearts out.

Looks a beautiful cold winter's day with still enough light to enjoy. Are there many setters up in your area or are you considered 'exotic' to work with setters? Do the finnish hunters usually use breeds like the german whirehaired pointer?

The "Germans" are more popular but english pointer and setters have a steady "supportgroup" ;) among hunters.
Finns register about 100-120 huntingtype setters(all 4 breeds included)/year

I love your photos! Thank you for sharing. We don't have snow here yet but your photos show the beauty of the dogs in the snowy environment. I look forward to seeing more photos!
Best wishes from the USA, Northwest....close to Yellowstone Park.

Thank you all for your comments! This part of the world can be one of the worlds most beautiful places from time to time. Stress, if you have one, is swept away pretty fast when you climb up the mountains and look at the absolutely beautiful scenery up ahead. And you never get fed up with that look...
