Offering living animals as a prize should be banned anyway!

The offering of animals has gone on for many years, when I was young, many many years ago, there were competitions to ''win a pony'', I actually entered these, but what would have happened if someone like me had won, I don't know....but this is now, and things should always be ''politically correct'' now, and this is definitely NOT correct.
As has been said, the breed club SHOULD have the best interest of the breed at hart, but this is disgusting, a very inappropriate person could WIN this poor animal. Do the people who run this competition (the Committee) just sell puppies to anyone who comes along????, just to get the money, or do they vet people, to make sure that they are the correct people for their puppies??? As for banning live animals as prizes, I think that it is banned in this country now....and as you say it should be EVERYWHERE.

With regard to Dees remark on miniature setters it was found to be a form of Dwarfism ( as found in German shepherds the person who bred these pups never as far as l know ever bred from them ;

Thank goodness for that!!! could you imagine what it would be like with lots of dwarf Irish setters around. They would become fashion accessory, and that would be the death of the Irish Setter as we know it...but it is going to be so for the Irish in France, because of what is going on there, they need to ''wake up and smell the coffee'' they need to stop this tiny hight and weight thing that they are doing at the moment. And get with the FCI standard....NOW

Excuse me, i can't assess from a picture, can someone tell what is the height of this bitch (approximate)?
Comment by Londa Warren on June 20, 2009 at 10:04pm
Somewhere in the French standard I found two sets of measurements. I don't speak a word of French and don't understand the metric system, but I do have a metric converter and found the following: (approximations, as I rounded)

M - 58 to 67 CM = 22.8 to 26.4 Inches
F - 55 to 62 CM = 21.6 to 24.4 Inches

And:

M - 59 to 64 CM - 23.2 to 25.2 Inches
F - 56 to 60 CM = 22.04 to 23.62 Inches

What are these two separate measurements? Heigth and length? And which is which?

they are all measurements for height(dogs and bitches), but the second set of measurements is the one the French have created and want to see applied in France!!!!!

I think you are talking about Daniel Munini. It's not him you can see on the picture but Mr Delavaut.

and I also think you 're wrong with the idea that the red club would'nt approve the judgement. This bitch is on their website homepage !
