I think some action needs to be taken! Perhaps it should come from Ireland as the FCI recognises the Irish Standard for the Breed!

Thank you to inform the real lovers setters about the situation in France. Of course I know this bad situation and I know it's really not easy to breed irish setters in France. The Red Club of France is a gang of fundamentalists ! They are only interested with the working qualities of their dogs, and now a lot of Irish setters in France are looking for Brittany Spaniel.
It's at this special show 'Championnat de France' (and also at the special show: Nationale d'Elevage) where the Red Club seems dominate the organization that you can see a lot of these specimens of false irish setters.
No chance for you if you are not entered in the Working Class with a 'hunting type' and still worse if your are a foreign handler.
Long life to the Red Club.... Probably soon our Irish Red Setter dispappeared in France. Fortunately some breeders like you resist. Have a good chance for your fight !

I'm stunned! The poor little bitch on the left bears no resemblance to any setter(past or present)of any type (working or show) that I have ever seen!! And as to its weight; well a disgrace!! Too thin! The bitch on the right looks better though!
