Today Joy forgot all her manners!!!

No, that's not what she did - that photo is old and just added for illustration's sake. Here is what she did:

I was lazy today and on my own, so I did not cook for myself but just opened a tin with a dish you only have to warm up - Joy is normally very well behaved (inside the house that is ... ) and never puts her feet up on a table, stove or kitchen work suface - she tried when she was six months old, but we manage to stop that behaviour right then and there and she never tried again - until today (!) when I put that new smell (for her) in the pot: She put her feet on the (luckily!) still cold stove and brought her nose very close to the pot to sniff at the contents.

What do you think was in the pot that made our now two year old girl (nearly 2 1/2 wow!) forget her manners and follow curiosity ...?

I don't know....choucroute or French cassoulet???? Once, I had Roger with his nose in a saucepan full of home made soup when he was about 8 months old.......just caught him in time before he burnt his tongue....has not tried again since.....

Cassoulet is not a bad guess, Catherine, very tasty - but no: No bacon in it, no saucage and no jucy lamb...

Also very tasty - but sorry, Eva, no fish either ...

Ravioli? ;-)) Thinking of what dish you could have in a tin....

Good thinking Nicole - alas, boring even for my taste and not the tin I opend ...

Hmmm ... the answer is obviously something we are unlikely to guess or Cornelia would not be making us guess. Therefore, I am going to say that it is a lovely tin of Beet Borsch!! Ha! I KNOW I've got it right ... a red dog would love a RED soup, yes????

The suspense is killing me ...

Baked white beans in tomato sauce?
Comment by Myra Thomas-Rhodes on September 17, 2010 at 5:41pm
Maybe Joy is vegetarian - so baked beans!

Your getting closer!! There were beens in it and the sauce is red - but I'm sorry Myra, it was not vegetarian - and no beet, Gigi ... there is however one ingredient in it that attracted my hot red girl...
