The Swiss Coppersheens - moving toward the future...

Glen is excited... the future has begun!

On May 10th 2011 in France Int Ch (CIB) Coppersheen Coalville Lad 'Glen' and Amara 'du Domaine du Fuchsberg' became proud parents of 10 big strong puppies. In keeping with today's concern to lower the level of inbreeding, this litter may be considered an outcross. The pedigree combines 'multi-purpose' Glen's predominantly british show lines with Amara's french pedigree that goes back to important French and Irish working lines with names like Moanruad Rafter, Timothy, Beaute to be found in the pedigree. Hopefully some of these pups will show 'attitude' in the field and in the show ring. Happy days for their future owners:-)

The above photo shows Glen & Amara's 5 day old pups.

On May 28th 2011 in Germany the newly crowned Int Ch (CIE) Coppersheen Dancing Light 'Dairine' (by Copper's Mean Mr Mustard ex Northern Light vh Adelaarsvaren) owned by Heike Dreissig, became mother of seven healthy and active puppies. Here again, this litter can be considered a outcross with the aim of producing healthy active and good looking dogs with strong working instincts. The sire is the Canadian import Russel's Kismet, bred by Susan Russel by her imported Norwegian pure working dog Saeterelva's Russel, out of her dual purpose Canadian bred bitch Highfeather Rais'n a Ruckus. Kismet is owned by Christiane Lohmann in Germany. The pups are all strong, active and very vigorous. Good luck to them all - and their owners...! Two will be coming to Switzerland.

Finally, around June 14th 2011 another thrilling litter is expected in M. Favier's de Villette kennel in France sired by Glen out of Trawricka Image (by Ardbraccan Noble Spirit at Trawricka out of  Trawricka Dreamdance) bred in Belgium by Frances McKimm. 'Bon courage' to Image in the days and weeks ahead (isn't it easy being a father!)

Above shows Glen exerting all his manly charme to impress the lady Trawricka Image. Should you be in doubt - Irish Setters come in all shades of red ;o))

Exciting days... we wish all the Puppies long and healthy lives with owners willing to give them all the attention and training a setter requires.

Links to the breeder's of these litters can be found on my website under updates - www.coppersheen.ch

Back home at Coppersheen we have our own plans: Summer trials in Scotland for Glen and I, field training for 'Speedy Gonzales' Anlory Red Sky. The Future is wide open...
