The 6 Decenber we celebrate as St Nicholas Day here in Slovakia.
And At Christmas too,:-).. A lot of years we celebrate Dedo Mraz/Grandpa Frost put another way St Claus nowadays. Mostly it is Father Christmas who brings gifts under Christmas tree in the evening on CHristmas Eve .
And more facts..:
13th December, St. Lucia's day, when the powers of darkness were said to do more harm than usual to people's health and property. In the evening women dressed up in fancy dress and ritually chased the evil spirits out of their houses;

Hello Lynn. Many greetings to your girls and LadyCat. I love cats as well. They are so independent.
A girl from the USA has a sick gordon. Can you have a look at her page? Maybe you know how to help...because of Megg.

Hallo Lynn, I answer you only today, because Saturday we celebrated St. Nikolas. In Poland it is the same like during Christmas Day. We offer presents for children.
Yesterday we were at show in polish city Nowa Ruda. Palisander obtained CAC and the best dog in breed. It is a big joy for us because we are not professionals.
Yes I didn’t understand you good. It is very good for Tess I think that she is likes chase birds. I am happy for her. I saw once a girl, she didn’t want to go to the field at all. So all is possible. Our dogs love so much our beds and to be caress and stroke.

Hallo Lynn, Thank you very much for congratulations. Yes, I am very proud. We are news in shows. It is only second year that we participate in shows. And Palisander is not typical setter for shows, he is more for hunting because of gens. But it is possible to join together good hunting skills and beauty.
We are working on it.
I am waiting for good news and new photos.

Thanks Lynn for your comment,
When I "discovered" setters, I was thinking about ES or IS. But for ES I should have waited 6 months... For me it was too long. So I have IS and i can't imagine my life without them.

Rida "Redwing Outa Florida" is my untrained, casual hunting companion. She works out great as I am a casual, untrained hunter. We do very little to disrupt the local grouse and woodcock populations.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Hi Lynn
Thanks for your very nice comments about my dogs. We are about a 3 hour drive from New Plymouth I love the town. I am a total setter freak with 5 now and very recently Brooke the English pointer has joined the family so it is chaos. Would love to hear from you soon.JO.XXX

Hi Lynn, Thanks for the comment about the "old ladies". We still have the golden who is now 9+ years, she is kept busy by Riley O'Grady (Irish Setter, rescue) who is now 3 yrs. They grow old much too fast! Blessings, Mary w/ rescued Riley & Sasha

Thanks for the comment on the Christmas picture Lynn. I was hoping for a better one but Riley and Sasha just were too tired today to pose for me...I'll keep trying! Blessings, Mary

We currently have only Riley 3 yrs (IS) and Sasha 9yrs (GR), Sasha had been the constant companion to our 12 1/2 yr. Irish that we lost last summer (Mahlie). Within days of losing Mahlie we lost my heart dog , a little long hair dachshund named Leasle (14yrs). Sasha was really grieving until Riley came along.
Prior we had another setter "Darbee" and another golden named "Becca" they both passed around their tenth year. The time has passed so very quickly at times I feel they are still right here with me, yet it all started nearly thirty years ago. Most of our dogs have been rescues, amazing since they have all been wonderful full bred dogs. Our very first dog as a couple was a beautiful red doberman that I rescued when working at our local veterinarian office, he was a wonderful dog. The only one of these dogs that wasn't a rescue was Mahlie, the others have simply shown up before I had time to look for one on my own. Blessings, Mary
