Does anyone have any problems with eye infections? Brett usually has a bit of gooey stuff in his eyes but was a bit better with the help of some eye drops, but this morning one of his eyes was completely covered in it and he couldnt open his eye until i cleaned it away , hes not himself, have a vet appointment for later , but was just wondering is this something setters get?

Oh and Happy St. Patricks Day :)
My last puppy had this a few times. He played in the dirt and ran in the fields and the vet told me that little weeds and grasses can scratch the surface of the eye ever so slightly but enough to let germs in. We just used the goopy anti biotic suave in his eyes and he was better. He outgrew it for some reason. My breeder said pups are more susceptible to these things because they have raw immune systems as they grow they seem to not have it as often. I notice my currect puppy does get goopy stuff in the mornings sometimes but it doesn't continue through the daytime so I just figure I will let it be unless it becomes a problem. He also loves to play in the dirt. And it seems like brownish dirty colored stuff that comes out.
That happens to my girls too, and we never found anything wrong with their eyes. But you should be careful and see if there is any disconfort or red any other time! As long as it is just as you describe it, I wouldn't be too concerned, but you can always mention it to your vet on your next trip!
