Thankyou Chantal for all your lovely comments and yes Azif is (as if) it can be taken a couple of ways, (as if) you'd buy an afghan or Azif the indian cricketer , it started off as a joke name but had an eastern feel so it stuck, Susan wanted an affy so I said ok but you have to call it Azif
Morgan was the most beautiful dog I loved him beyond measure he was connected to me like no other, there were many many nights I wept at losing him, he had the most glorious mahogany coat, people would touch him at shows to see if it was dye when I walked him around I could hear comments like "look at the colour of that dog"
Many thanks for your comments ! It's hard to believe the positions Legolas would fall asleep in when he was a youngster...some were pretty weird and usually involved Con in some way :) and as I said under the picture...he always remained patient with the young loopy setter :)
I have very many fond memories of my beloved Con, he's just on my mind alot at the moment as it's his first anniversary away from home on the 31st. I miss the old-man terribly even after 14 great years together. ~Thanks again, Michelle & the lads
It was nice that you also had MC for a long time, although even 14 years is never really enough but we are lucky I guess, some people here on the site have lost their beastie babies at a much younger age. I only hope that I have plenty more years ahead with Lego & Theoden. Legolas is still having shoulder trouble but he is due to have his arthroscopy procedure in Cork in early April & they should be removing the fragment of bone and sorting it all out...I just hope it's a success, keeping fingers & toes crossed :)
Chantal ...think Eunice and I have you confused ...we both have Molly's that look a lot alike but that snow was in Missouri in the USA and pretty much melted by next afternoon....but may have another hit of it on Tuesday...hopefully last for the season. Glad you enjoyed the pictures....when I went to work that day it was just starting to come down...came home to it so Molly got her late night romp out in front yard as I was trying to catch her in pictures not very well due to her romping.
Just looked at your pictures again and love those of Darwin as a pup.....sort of makes me get that ahhhh I need one of those again feelings! Hope Darwin is getting some of those wonderful romps on your shores and that your husband is capturing it all in pictures as I love looking at his pictures!
We're planning a big b-day celebration this week and will post pixs. Recently, Dudley has become afraid of thunder shows and wants to get in bed with me. Is this an 'old dog' behaviour? Also, wanted to share that I bought brain game' hide-the-treat' toy for Dudley that's a hit. He has to lift plastic bones to uncover treats and then slide doors open and shut to reach more treats. After a but a week he discovered that turning the treat board upside down would quickly release the treats under the 'bones.' He has great time using nose and paws to slide the doors. Am curious if others have experience with such toys? Shows you can teach old dog NEW tricks ;-)!
we do have one on order but the mating is not for some time yet, but we are willing to wait because we seen the parents and were taken immediatly.
we had irish quite a few years ago but life commitments made it difficult for us to show but now things have changed again and we are able to give the dog the time it deserves. i know as a companion they are one of the best breeds.
Hi Chantal thanks for trying to help, i've hopefully found the lady breeder i've been searching for. Just fired off a message to her and i'm waiting a response, if this fails i'll be carrying on my search.
No problem Chantal...sort of made me laugh and was sort of expecting it to happen with both of us having Molly's! Glad you enjoyed the pictures....I know Molly sure enjoyed romping that night....hard to follow her in dark with the camera . Hope all is going well for you and Darwin.
our previous dogs where mainly decendents from the wendover line, I just know what i like in a gun dog, good bone structure, and one that looks as though they can work in the field all day with out falling down. head is important and they must have a kind and intellegent eye. i am not an expert but i just know what i like but i do not knock what others prefer. I have seen some outstanding dogs on this site and in time i will look at what lines the pups are from but at the moment i am just a novice and i'm quite willing to take as much advice as possible.
as for plan 2 or 3 and buy one earlier i don't think so, because the parents had every thing i look for, and their personality was outstanding
