5 years (I've had working gundogs for 20 years, including Britts and Spaniels)
About Me:
My passion is working gundogs. I enjoy everything from quail hunting with my Pointers and Setters to rabbit hunting over Spaniels. When living in the USA I trained and tested with NAVHDA and liked that organisation a lot.
I'm an Aussie and very fortunate to enjoy some of the best quail county in the world. In a poor season we find hundreds of birds, in a good season thousands.
Hello Rob - and welcome to this site!
I'm enjoying your input abou the working setter. As you say you are fortunate and privileged to have such fantastic oportunities to work your dogs. I'll look forward to seeing your photos - the dog closest to you on your profile picture really looks keen to go!
Hi Rob,
Welcome.I don't know where Back Paddock is. I live in Qld. I have an Irish bitch that has an Irish Field Trial Champion about 3 generations back and she is very strong with hunting instincts. If she doesn't get enough work, running etc she goes a bit nutty. She is my favourite dog and I wish I had the experience or knowledge to have trained her when she was young. She still passes this type of personality onto her pups. Who knows maybe I can train one of them. My husband used to trial Labs and if he had the time would have trained Sophy.
Nice to see someone still giving these wonderful dogs the opportunity to do what they were bred to do and what they love.

Yes Rob,
I do remember you. I think I also had Sophy with me but Brodie was probably much more impressive. Sophy is the best dog to walk with. Her running and laughing at the wind is an absolute joy to watch.

Pleased to meet you again;-))) We have been on quail hunt in Italy, when delivering a pup to an italian hunter last autumn.
Rest of the time we enjoyed plenty of game at home. Been a good year and...partridges are already in couples again for 3 days...

Yep, you are right about Kilsheelan-blood. We imported one male after K. Oceania and 2 females after K. Odyssey.
