How long have you owned Irish Setters?
Forever - entire life - I was raised with an Irish Setter from birth on ...
About Me:
My husband and I live on the Central Oregon Coast. No kids at home, just the "Red Dogs". I am in my 50's and have been around Irish Setters and Dressage Sport Horses my entire life. We own a large 550 acre ranch that mainly grows a lot of timber. You could say that we are tree farmers, we raise Purebred Irish Dexter Cattle and also Angus and Angus Cross - 2 separate herds.

When we lost my beloved Eliza Mayhem in March 2010 we began our search for another Irish Setter. We were looking for certain bloodlines related to our beloved Eliza - they were difficult to locate. Finally we found a puppy, we ended up buying 3 all a month apart in age from Fleetwood Farms in Ohio. Then our son who is all grown up and finished with college asked if we wished to have his 2 Irish Setters because his work schedule became too demanding to spend much time with his Red Girls. Of course we said yes.

This morning (10-30-2011, very early we lost our older Irish Big Red Buster, he turned 12 years old in September. My friend Lynne sent me the link to this list so here I am.

Welcome to ES Rose!!! and very very sorry to hear about Big Red Buster departure. I joined ES just after loosing my special boy and this site is the best bereavement therapy you will find. So many of us know too well the horror of having to say goodbye, and no doubt you will find plenty of ES friends to help you too.
