Is it a requirement that neck and ears be shaved for the show ring. It doesn't look natural and I am not fond of the look. I am rather new to show events with my boy and girl and recently had my girl…Continue

People are strange. I just read about survey results on peoples response to "What do you think is the most beautiful dog breed?" Just to show what poor taste people have, the Irish Setter ranked…Continue

A friend of mine has been looking for the lady he bought an IS puppy from in 2005 and we have been unable to locate her. I fear she may have passed. Her name is Heather Russell, she owned Blue Moons Red Rhett and Blue Moons Crimson Girl. She lived in Oklahoma or an adjoining state here in the USA. If anyone has any information please send to my email me at flitter2454@msn.com. He was interested in another dog from that bloodline.

Please refer to anyone you know who has been looking for a very nice Irish setter. I have 8 little boys and 3 little girls. Both parents are clear of genetic issues and have been…

Getting ready to get Ellis OFA on her hips. Can anyone tell me what their Doctor charged to do this? I know the OFA charge is separate, I am curious about the vet bill I have been quoted. Thanks to anyone that can help me.

My first Irish, Heather, was a grand-daughter of Innisfail Color Scheme. Recently during a discussion with other IS folks some one made the comment that he was one of the greatest carriers of PRA in the Irish Setter breed because he was used for stud so frequently. I had never heard this before and would like to know if anyone knows where I could find evidence of this. I am talking to fellow old timers out there to see if this was a valid claim or more BS. Heather had clear vision till the…
