Glen and I had a wonderful opportunity of a training session in the field on Saturday. It is well over 4 months since the last training session and I was uncertain as to how he would hunt. We had a fantastic day with loads of wild pheasants, spring sunshine and a relaxed atmosphere. Glen had two good runs: on his first cast he pointed a very surprised hen pheasant and behaved perfectly, then the pheasants started to run, making it hard for the dogs.. On his second run he was paired with Tessa, an experienced and fast Gordon Setter. Glen was not prepared to disgrace himself, so kept up a high speed, both dogs working together well and producing a beautiful cock pheasant. I was especially pleased that Glen showed he had stamina and the will to keep going on this long round. We had a lovely day out!

Great shots, Susan - doing what they were bred to do, and doing it in style!
