Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

On this day, 19 years ago my first Irish Setter was born :) Lun was born in Ljubljana on April 18th came into my life because my dad was not paying attention and my cousin knew I have always wanted a dog *VBG*. So he asked my dad to get me this puppy from their neighbor's dog who just had a litter. So, my dad wanted to get rid of him and said "OK". That is the pure accident how I ended up with an Irish Setter and not a Bull Terrier .
I truly believe nothing in life is accidental and my life would not be what it is without him. He was my constant companion - even at school to the dismay of my teachers, my tennis club's unofficial mascot, and my partner in crime. He always stood guard when we were stealing neighbor's apples. He would also be stealing the porkchops prepared for dinner with such a stealth nobody would be aware of their missing until the dinner time *VBG*. The same thing with my 13th birthday cake ;o))) . But he was the most loyal, brave dog, who would not back down for anything who taught me the importance of stubbornness :) We were inseparable and so alike that, after going to college, during talking to my mom, she would say " oh, I dont really miss you - you and Lun are exactly alike" ( that has always been a compliment in my house ;o))
So, to my friend, whom I will miss for the rest of my life, happy birthday. 14 years was not even close enough....

Even if you wrote in a positive way about Lun, I ended up crying... Happy birthday to your angel.

I was in a similar situation when I got my first Irish (I was 12), as originally I wanted to have a Siberian Husky, but my father didn't allow it because they couldn't bark (just howl). So the second choise of breed was the Irish Setter....TO MY VERY BIG LUCK :-)))
Lovely memories will stay with us forever.....Happy Birthday to your friend!

lets just say that he was a VERY self-sufficient and intelligent dog. And that is meant as a big compliment ;o)))
