Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
I thought it was appropriate to acknowledge my beautiful "Nome" today, as he was named after the place near the Arctic Circle, connected with the famous Iditarod race. This annual event begins today, to mark the "Serum Run" of 1925, and is testament to the endurement, team work and complete trust between dogs and man.
Nome arrived early in 2004,and has been a great ambassador, breeding and showing, producing some beautiful Irish for Amhurst. He won Best In Show at Melbourne's Irish Setter Specialty when only 16 months old, under Mr John Vant from England.
Having already been breeding for over 30 years, I was searching for new blood, and judging overseas gave me the opportunity to look around the world. I had judged Camilla Ostman's Irish on two separate occasions, and decided her stunning dogs were for me. On my third appointment in Sweden, I visited Camilla, Nome was booked and a wonderful friendship began. Lupin arrived a few years ago, and Ludo is due to arrive next month.
great!
He is beautiful! Very athletic! I like the last photo, although it is a bit small. He's standing very nicely!
