HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO UPLOAD A JPG FILE

I was trying to upload a file with 4 photos which were compressed and the site said to keep the window open.It was still uploading 2hours later.Is this normal.Is it better to just upload a picture at a time and save it to a saved blog for later release when all the pictures have been done.

Can anyone give me a time frame as i cannot have my computer out of action during the day.Do people upload overnight?What is the best way of creating the blog with pictures?

5-15 minutes is very long... I upload 5-8 photos in about 40 seconds. Before uploading I resize photos and they have about 120 kB.

I resize all photos to about 3-400kB. JPG
Takes only seconds to upload!

Last night I uploaded 4 photo's with a total size of 16 mb in 5 minutes.

I have had similar problems a few times, and have contacted Gene, because there was obviously a problem.I am back on track at the moment!

Thanks for your comments. It would appear that there was a problem as it was the first time for me to try to do this i did'nt know what was normal.I usually have a fast broadband as it is cable.

After 2 hours i had to cancel it as i didnt know how long it would go on for. I will try again hopefully on sunday.

Usually if one does not resize photos and try to upload pictures approximately 1,5-2MB the process takes time. It is important to resize your photos into smaller (200-300kb). It is much more easier for the viewer to upload them as well+ the netsites don´t get overloaded...

Some of the blogposts in this forum have way too big attacements and I don´t ever try to upload the photos. So for the readers and the sites sake minimize your pictures before uploading them, please.

I do agree with Katariina...some blog-posts take just for ever to show on my computer and its very frustrating when people have uploaded several photos on a blogpost and you just can not get "past" them to look at blogposts below.
So resizing should almost be part of the deal of adding a blogpost.

did you uncompress/unzip them before trying to load them? if not you should do this.
