Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Hello Everybody! There are many changes at Russell Irish Setters currently. Ken and I are splitting up, so much of my time has been spent dividing belongings and dealing with legal issues. Prior to the decision to part ways I had planned a litter and they arrived 3 weeks ago just to liven things up!

It is a lovely litter of 13!!! They are by Chukarhill Burn Notice out of Can Ch Russell's Grapevine. Tate is a dog that has impressed me from day one. He is an absolute sweety and he is all business in the field. Line bred by Dennis and Bonnie Hidalgo on NFC NAFC FC AFC Iskote AniMosh "Fred" (who is a dog that really impressed me when I saw him run) among others I was most fortunate that I was able to take Rumour to Tate. Rumour is a nice dog with CKC Field Trial senior stake points in addition to her championship and is by a litter mate to Dual Champion Mythodical Runnymeade Rip out of Am and Can Dual Champion Highfeather Raise 'N a Ruckus.

I've got high hopes for this litter and certainly with 13 of them I've got a few to choose from. This breeding will likely do well at field trials and certainly will give me a direction to come back to with my dogs that are mostly show bred since there is a predominance of field lines in this pedigree. It will give me a solid stepping stone in my dual program.

I also co-bred and kept a lovely 7 month old female Meg who is by Ch Harborlight Mint For Me out of Russells Mythodical Get'N Birdy (littermate to Rumour.) Birdy stayed up here for awhile after having her litter and I put an AKc Amateur Gun dog major on her as well as numerous CKC placements. Meg is a solidly built tomboy of a pup ready and willing to do anything. She is nice on birds and beautiful as well, so I hope to have much fun with her in show rings and field trials.

I hope to stay in touch more often now that my time is my own.

Good Luck with everything, Susan. At least you have a litter of babies to help concentrate on, and look to the future with.

Thanks Myra! It will certainly be different life in many ways, but ultimately better. And yes the litter of babies does help - no time to ruminate.
