Now this is strange....would you be a hunter and post such picture, you surely would have been torn into pieces here ! But as you are a pet-lover, you are happy to let you dog kill young baby rabbits ?!? and furthermore get positive comments ?
Be sure that our dogs are also happy to hunt (this has been a discussion before;-))), but we are happy to give the killing a sense, like putting rabbits into the oven with lots of garlic and tomatoes and only hunt with our dogs, when it is right time and creature..
And killing babies is nothing anybody should be proud of. sorry.

Apparently this rabbit was already dead before Ronnie took it over!
No harm done, the dog was just having a bit of FUN, and I know that it was taken home cooked and given to her dogs as a treat!

This last comment strikes me as very odd indeed Suzanne...
So you find a dead baby-rabbit (I still think that this is a baby hare...but never mind) you let the dog play with it...fair enough.
But then you take it home and cook it? Hey, this does just not have a true ring about it.
First of all baby-hares of that age are little more that skin/bone and fur...once scinned, there is nothing left to feed a dog on.
Secondly what DID the baby die from? Would anyone in their right mind pick up something dead from unknown caurse and then feed it to a dog?

I did wonder about the friendly comments about this photo seing that we have had such nasty ones regarding dogs that hunt and actually do a proper job!
If your dog kills a baby-hare...deal with it...but no "excuse"-stories like ...found dead...took it home...and gave as a treat.

As I was there when Ronnie picked up the dead rabbit from the bushes, there is no more to be said!
Claires Father was always bring home dead rabbits for their dogs, and they have never come to any harm yet.
And they were indeed skinned put into the pot, as this one was, cooked with vegetables etc and fed to the dogs for a treat! Claire only did what her father had always done. The dogs ate the stew with relish!
If you think it odd, then so be it!
Suzanne.
