A fantastic and extremely successful year draws to an end !
Girly, as you know, has made me such a proud mum this year;
She started the show year at the show of Leeuwarden, Holland, in March, under Mrs Patsy Hollings,UK, officiating as judge, winning her 1st Junior Class and her
1st Junior Cac.
In May, with Mrs Vojna Medvedec, Croatia, officiating as judge, she wins her
2nd Junior Cac;
(thank you Aleksandra for handling Girly, you know how much she loves you and is always so happy when she sees you).
In June, Girly participates at her 1st English dog show, 'Three Counties' under Mrs Mel Hillocks, who gives her 3rd place in Junior bitch;
She thus
qualifies for Crufts 2009.
The following week-end was the big 'Brussels Dog Show' where she wins the Junior bitch class and the title of '
Belgian Junior Winner 08' and she
again qualifies for Crufts.
Germany, in August, at Wiesbaden, under Mrs Alenka Pokorn,SLV, and this time Girly is entered in Intermediate class;
She not only wins her class and gains her
1st VDH, but she also wins the
Reserve Cac, this at just 15months.
Back to Holland, end of August, at the Rotterdam show, under Mr Moray Armstrong,UK who apparently much appreciated the beauty of Girly as he not only gave her 1st in Junior Class and her
3rd and last Junior Cac to become '
Dutch Junior Champion' but he also gave her the
Reserve Cacib/rcac out of some 22 bitches entered that day. A wonderful result for such a young bitch.
The 14th September 'The Belgian Irish Setter Club Junior Day' with Mrs Liz Rose-Hay, UK judging.
Girly wins 'All' - Best Junior, Best Bitch and 'BEST IN SHOW' What a day, what a result!
This show is special to me, as 4 years ago it was the 2nd show I attended with Chickadee, Girly's mum.
But I didn't at all feel the same way this time as the first time, (probably due to less stress)
That day I had seen 'Tulssye du Cap de L'Emeraude' winning.
I thought then, that a dog who could make such a result had to exceptional, and that it was also surely due to great experience and work on the part of the handler/owner, and now some 4 years later, its my Chickadee's daughter 'Girly' who takes the BIS honour.
I can still hardly believe it.
In October we go to the Dortmund Bundesieger show in Germany, where Girly not only wins her class the 1st show day but also at the 2nd show on the following day. Thus winning
3 x Vdh in 2days ( Bundessierger ticket counts as double)
On to November and we're off to Metz, in France, under Mr Jos de Cuyper, Belgium, who awards Girly not only the
Cacib/Cac but also the Best of Breed. Later she also wins the Group 7!!
And last but not least, Amsterdam Winner Show, under Mr Frank Kane, UK, where Girly is 1st in the Intermediate Class.
During these marvellous moments which I have shared with you, you have always congratulated us and shown your encouragement, and it is for this that I would simply like to say how much that touches me and I wish you all the best for the year 2009.
Thank You ! ! !
