Exclusively Setters

Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

As an interim measure until the official register provided by the Kennel Club is fully up and running, the SEISC has decided to offer an opportunity for owners to post their recent PRA rcd4 DNA test results.
This will be on our PRA rcd4 page.
This is available to all owners worldwide not just SEISC members and will be in a similar format to that already used by the Kennel Club.

For further details please see the Club website www.seisc.co.uk.

Listing will be available sometime today - slight kink in my "html"  !!

Thank you Marina and congrats to you too :)

Ossian, we were told to 'hold off' for a very short time- I made it clear to them that we would not wait long, as I felt a responsabilty to publish. It was for a couple of weeks while they got themselves together for the questions that would, obviously, be raised.
Sorry that was meant to be posted after Ossian's comment a couple of pages ago!

hi Deb I knew it wasnt that long and I thought that you had been assertive in y

your decision to go forward but AHT were working on IS before the Gordon

folk came forward. IS was dropped and I remember them being advised that

as the IS may not have RCD4 there was no point in using the DNA being developed

for GS. Thrn - when they had "got their act together" suddenly it was RCD4.

I am concerned that IRWS are on the same track.

Some time ago IRWS - in their PPC research - were advised that AHT were

hopig to sourc some new special "something or other" which would speed

the process and help get to a definitive result more quickly and then there was a long

period of time and I believe quite a bit of retrenching went on.

In Gordons, well into the research, we had word from AHT that they were close but were

hoping to purchase a new type of equipment which would speed the test they were working on.

It all began to sound very "familiar" and the Gordon reps exerted a lot of pressure includung

being very vigilant at maintaining contact with AHT and there was a "breakthrough" which gave

GS their DNA kits.

I dont want to think for a moment that AHT are

manipulating their workload but if one looks at their current

projects - some of which have been running for some years and

collecting rather a lot of financial support -and queries the people

who are hopingfor results I do feel we could be disappointed

I only have one result of two so far, but I'm very happy to report that Garden Star's Ramblin Rose (Imp Hun) is CLEAR.

Melinda, I am so pleased for you!

Congratulations Melina!
