I have a rescued IRS - Maggie. She a beautiful old lady. She has been with me since the midle of May. She's also my first Irish setter and my first rescued dog. I am obsiously not an expert on the breed, and the fact that she didn't have the best experiences in her life and she's a senior increases the responsability. Maybe the group can help me with my doubts. Thanks in advance to everybody and thak you so much to the members that already have replied to my discussion about Maggie's coat.

Like Phil, we foster for S.O.S. We also have our own Sweet Sue, who we adopted from a local shelter. She was born with one eye and several other genetic defects - but don't tell her that they are defects. She "just knows" that she is the prettiest, sweetest red-head there is. She turns 7 next month, and has been the light of our lives for six years now.

Glad to see more S.O.S. folks representing and rescue people in general. There are a lot of Setters that should thank their lucky stars for Alissa & Company.

We should all remember to say a "thank you" for "Saint Alissa" regularly.

I set my home page to http://www.goodsearch.com/ and then under who do you GoodSearch for I put the Save our Setters, Oakland, TN as the recepant of the donation. I use goodsearch instead of google or bing and there is supose to be a donation going to the charity everytime I use this sight to search anything on the web.

I am secretary of the East Midlands Social Region for the irish Setter Breeders Club in the UK. Every year we have a sponsored walk to raise money for Irish Setter Rescue. Last year we raised £2,136. You can read about last year's walk and see the photos by going to my web site:
www.hooley-irish-setters.co.uk
Then go to the NEWS page and click on the link for RESCUE WALK 2009
