Like Phil, we foster for S.O.S. We also have our own Sweet Sue, who we adopted from a local shelter. She was born with one eye and several other genetic defects - but don't tell her that they are defects. She "just knows" that she is the prettiest...
We foster Setters for Save Our Setters. I live with my father who has had Irish Setters for over 70 years. Together we decided to do what we could to help those in need, so we signed up with S.O.S. to be foster parents.
We are owned by a wonderful one-eyed rescue girl named Sue who is the light of our lives.

I cannot imagine what possessed the breeder to dump a puppy at the shelter. I just despair as to the things that some of these so called 'loving breeders' do. The worse thing that I have produced, is an undershot jaw, (I have to say that was back in the 70's and those lines are no longer) but I practically gave him away, and he was the best shaped dog in the litter, always the way...he was loved by his owner, he would have breakfast with them, boiled egg and soldiers, at the table after he had helped his owner do his early deliveries, he was a coal man. I think that your girl also ''fell on her feet'', well done you. There are a few on ES that are foster mums and dads, fantastic jobs, and you are an adopted parent, congratulations.
