This is cool to see so many folks doing such noble deeds as these. I applaud you all. And, yes, I agree also that Alissa should be commended! Currently I am going against the trend and fostering a Gordon. She is a nice old gal. Somebody want to adopt?

Hello - my latest addition arrived this past Tuesday morning. He is MICK - came through Alissa and Save Our Setters. Formerlly from Arkansas.
I do not believe I posted for awhile so more news (Mick is the happy news for me and Kylie) March 2nd I lost my beautiful handsome 11 yr old Boy (adopted 8/5/03) Shane and the very next day March 3rd my gal Faith had to leave (adopted 12/12/04). We have had very sad times and now very happy times to pull us ut of the slump. Will post a picture of Mick this evening. Carol in Pennsylvania

Hello. I receive emails from Black Retriever X Rescue (UK), and they have several setters available for re-homing just now. Most of the dogs they re-home are brought across from Ireland, where many healthy dogs are destroyed each year.

The setters currently available include the beautiful English Setter, Bracken, two "almost Irish" boys, Rua and Mo Chara (Gaelic for ‘my friend’), and an English cross Collie, called Happy, who had a very bad start in life.

Certainly hope the pups Rua and Mo Chara in the UK AND Newton in Louisiana get homes for Christmas, or at the latest New Years.  Sending Setter Zen from Pennsylvania U.S.A.

Our Molly was a rescue for us at what we believe to be about a year old...wild, unused to houses but within three months had complete run of our home even while we were gone.  Molly has been just an awesome addition to our family...and truth be told sooo much easier than a puppy....though I wish we had had her as a pup.  We feel so lucky to have been chosen to be her forever family and are truly enjoying our first Irish lass....we had always had male Irish Setters so she sure has changed our minds about insisting on having a male dog.

We've just rehomed our second Red Setter. Our first died aged 18 years 2 years ago and was a fantastic dog. The girl we've just got (6 weeks ago) is a 21/2 year old bursting with energy.

I thought everyone would like this quote that was in a book from the RSPCA. "Saving an animal won't change the world, but it will surely change the world for that animal". It's a wonderfully feeling giving a dog a second chance :))
