About Me:
My first Irish Setter, Penny, came to me via the dog warden in 1987. My boyfriend owned an Irish Setter and thought that I could care for Penny over the Easter holiday until the dog pound could take her. She had been straying for some time and was a very sorry little girl - she never made it to the pound but stayed with me for 10 years. I loved her and when the opportunity came to have a dog in 2001 it was no contest, it had to be an Irish Setter. Jim Parker and I own eight year old Ruby, Lucy 5 and Georgie 2 and a half. Georgie is a reluctant show girl but we make it up to her with long walks in the woods and the beach and holidays in the Lakes and Scotland.

Dogs at Weddings

Thought the Cocker Spaniel lovers amongst you may like this little story..

I have long admired this photo of Jim’s Mum and Dad – who were married during WWII. Arthur and Kath are pictured here with a Cocker Spaniel bitch - Sally of Billingbear who was the granddaughter of Exquisite Model of Ware.  Owned by Mr H. S. Lloyd,   Exquisite Model of Ware was Crufts BIS 1938 and 1939.  At the time of her marriage Kath was ‘in service’ to the Buckley family who owned Sally and was very fond of…

Hi there Maggie, welcome to the site I used to live near Market Raison, near Louth, a smallholding between Fulstow and Covenham, (can't remember how to spell that) lovely part of the country, I am sure that you will enjoy it here.

Hi there Maggie
I didn't manage to get to ISBC, I wasn't well at Crufts but lets face it, Crufts is a must, even if you are in your sick bed....but ISBC I wasn't sure how I was going to do, and probably would have been tossed so decided I had better stay in the 'comfort of home' to recuperate I just couldn't face the journey by myself, I really think that I am getting too old to be doing that kind of mileage by myself and sleeping in cars.
How did Jim do in the skiing marathon???
Will you be coming up to any of the Scottish shows or is that just a 'step too far' I don't have anything booked down in the south at the moment, have got to enter Irish Setter Club of Ireland but may not be able to get there as Saffy should be Pregnant by then, fingers crossed and a following wind that is...
Speak soon Dee and the girls

Hi there Maggie
I have the same problem. Which show would you be coming up for??The spring or the Autumn show?? I know what the weather was like last year, we were in Ireland doing the Circuit and that was a complete wash out. The shows over there are all held out doors, so you had wet clothes all over the place, and I had fallen out with the people that I was sharing a cottage with, it was all in my room, where I spent the week, not to be recommended... But I had a good time despite them..
There are a lot of wonderful dogs on the continent, as we can see from this site. I have been know to start talking to dogs, in strange places, and then getting to know the owners quite well. I did that in the middle of Louth, in Lincolnshire, where I had moved to, and finding out that he, the dog, was the brother of my bitch and they both were born in the south of England....small world
I am having the same problem as you think you have, I'm rambling on a bit
Will speak soon Dee and the girls
