My "heart dog" was an Irish Setter 34 years ago and I now wish it hadn't taken me so long to have another. Shiraz shares her home with me, Lucy the Gordon Setter, 3 Papillons, a Persian cat, a Quarter-horse and a quarter-of-a-horse.We have a couple of acres to romp on and the beach is only a 1km away, for a change of 'romping' scenery.
Thankyou Sharyn and Carmel. I am not very computer savvy yet ( see, I can't adjust this photo to show Kizzi's beautiful head),so please be gentle (ie understanding).
hello and welcome, read how you found this site, i am sure you'll find many interesting things as well, last but not least all the photos from all around the world!
what do you mean by "quarter-of-a-horse"? :-))
all the best,
laura & the girls
Yep, its me again. Larabie/Martinridge Kissinthdark. I hand stripped her head, with just my fingers, last week and it came up amazing, but couldn't work out how to do back edge of ears. The Irish certainly don't clip the same way as the Gordon!!! I didn't want to muck it up, so I left it. I checked out the UK website Bernie recommended to me (already had it on Favourites for 6 months) but it wasn't specific enough about the ears. Hence why I went google searching again and found this group.
Welcome to the site Susan, Hope that you enjoy it and that one day we might see more pictures of you baby would like to see her head though Ha Ha read one of your other comments, I can't do much on this computer either...:-)))

i love setters there fabulous dogs
any chance i could show my dogs in a show ring but just a small one?

Thank you for the help.
I hope to do showing when i am older it would be lovely
and meet others with setters would be even better
but as you said start off at the basics and work your way up
I hope you get some photos uploaded so i cant wait to see the little one

i love setters i wouldnt be able to live without one beside me
i love huskys too but setters are so sweet and beautiful and so gentle with little children
i hope to get some photos uploaded soon as the weather in Scotland just now is really snowy and cold but the dogs love the snow
rolling around in it and playing with it
i taught my little one and big one a new trick yesterday, high five
Setters catch on very quickly even grown up setters and they love this trick too.
