Xenaran A-litter

Tessa (Chic Choix Quailmoor Nemea) and Jedi (Vicary's Yedidah) puppies are finally on their way, Tessas pregnancy was confirmed today by an ultrasound.

We are expecting the little fellows to be born at the end of february.

There's more info about this combination at my website: www.xenarankennel.com

I am also planning summer puppies for my gordon setter girl Tara (Showpoint Day After Day).

The week so far...

Well, it's been a big week for Fionni so far. First show of the year on Saturday. Then Monday night was his first retrieving lesson (well, first in two years...but I don't think the one training day he had in 2005 aged 15 weeks really counted...). He was a natural - although he did spend most of the session showing his suave manly moves to a rather lovely Flat-Coat Retriever bitch (for "suave manly moves" read "rolling around on his back and squealing like a girl"). Apparently, dogs have it…

If you cant beat them... get a new website!

I was not going to have a dishwasher, nor could I ever see myself with a mobile phone. And like why would I need a computer? All these items I can now not live without for more than a few hours...

But there was another thing you would never see me having. And that was a website.

Like who needs them?

As they say, if you cant beat them, join them. I have. So I am not ashamed to admit I have once again had to change… Continue

LKC of WA 19 January 2008

Well, the first show for 2008 has been and gone. My two were the only two Irish entered. Fionn got Best of Breed, and Maisy was bitch CC. Fionn was definitely in "sulky setter" mode, and skulked his way around the ring until the last lap when Glenn pulled a handful of sausage out of his pocket and thrust it in Fionn's face. Oh, the joy! Oh, the rapture! The bloody dog wouldn't keep four feet on the ground after that...

Suffice to say, he didn't go any further hehehe...but RUBIG went…

First blog

As this is my first blog, I really planned to write something spectacular. However, it was just a normal, boring day for my doggies. Me and OH at work (yay - why the human race evolved to THAT as our existence beats me); a bit of a walk; a bit of a game, and the dogs can tick another boring day off their "my parents aren't lotto-winners yet and so we're still latchkey dogs" calendar. That was...until about 30 minutes ago, when Maia heard that most magic of all words..."Bath-time!" (Okay, the…

First hunting trip for the year 2008

Actually today the 17th of January the polar night ends here in Finnish Lapland. But these pictures are from sunday the 13th of January. The weather was brilliant, just a few minus degrees(-3) light wind and a hint of snowflakes came down. We found grouses well, every dog expcept our youngest was working beautifully. Stood on point perfectly, flushed the birds with perfection and we did shoot some birdies down ;)

Our youngest, the english setter, was making progress though and he showed… Continue

Still alive!

Time flies when having fun :) hehe. Well, we have been busy with household (2 kids: 2 years and 6 months) and also the very last shows for 2007. Not a big success but fun time, yes! Just updated the profile photo and noticed that "wow, the little D is not so little anymore..." grown up man, should I say.

This year will start with no more shows for Dennis for awhile, hope his coat is not getting the most worst condition... he is doing some field training now!

Well, main… Continue

The birthday girl Danka...

As mentioned in the earlier blog post, my "little" girl turned 3 years today. Oh, how time flies... Was it already almost 3 years ago that we flew in to Hungary? That Odin hated her like hell? That she was not listening to me at all? :) So many things happened during these years and I am soooo happy that I have her - and Odin too!! Thanks Camilla for this wild but oh-so-smart girl!…

Annie's Happy New Year

Hello everyone,

I had a great holiday and New Year's celebration. I received lots of toys and Kongs. My good friend Porche, a German short-hair, gave me a ball Kong that a liver paste is squirted into it. My sister (a creature named Michelle) has taught me to "high five", "shake hands", "down". Michelle is always fun to be with! She leaves for school today, now I have to sleep on my own bed!

My creatures took me to Sun Valley for New Years, they cross-country skied. They said… Continue
