Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Yesterday i went with three dogs to a show i have supported since i started showing in 1976!!! oooooh long time
i took Liam (Rians Grandad) Whoobie my Field Spaniel and Dreamer also a Field Spaniel, the Judge for the Irish was Miss Sturrock of Forfarian Affix...Liam won open dog and got Best of Breed, Dreamer won her class and Whoobie won Open Dog and also Best of Breed..so that was great...i had two dogs to take into the Group so i grabbed a handler (well anybody silly enough to have a spare pair of hands!!!) i asked them to stand the dog for me but i would run him...well guess how delighted i was when the Group Judge and Best in show Judge (Irene Munro Fetteresk) awarded Laim Group 3 and said what a credit he was for his age, i was so thrilled Liam is still showing his socks off at the grand age of nine and a half and loves every minute of it..thanks to all for a lovely day

Well, were would we be going to??? Guess. No that is too difficult. We are bringing a few dogs over for friends - Hungarian Vizslas 3 smooth and 1 wirehaired. They had to sit out the usual time because of tests, and two are older - excellent dogs all of them. And then there is one other one going home and that makes me sooo sad, but the owner will be very happy. She has been missing him and I do sincerely understand why! He is one of the best dogs I have come across and we too love him dearly.
So we start deliverin at Boston, then near Edinburgh and finally end up in Inverness with Uncle Bill, but before getting there, going into the mountains to deliver our friend. I will miss him and I am so happy that I was allowed to have him for a while. Through him I learded more about the breed than I would have in any other way.

Carol!!!!!!!!!!!! I just noticed that we are almost going by your doorstep!!!!! At least on the way up. Down we usually go the faster way on the M6. Papa may want to see his daughter. We do not know the exact date yet, but one of the dogs cannot come into the country before Nov 13. So it may be the 16th that we are around Newcastle. We travel in the Camper van and take our time.

Dead chuffed to hear Liam's good news, it is no secret to you that I am one of his biggest fans (& always have been). Why he never made up I do not know....no justice in the world! Last week I did my A3 breed seminar with ISBC, as part of the pre course work we had to write about the best Irish we had ever judged & say why we thought it the best......no prizes for guessing who I wrote about; your beautiful boy with his classic head & outstanding movement. Great to hear he is still showing the young uns how to do it in the ring. Who is your new puppy Carol? I've got a new baby also. luv, Lynne

Lynne i am deeply honoured by what you have said, maybe if politics had not entered the compertion then Liam would have been made up...i wemt to the North East Of England Champ show yesterday and got second in Vet dog with Liam only beaten by a Sh Ch so that was lovely also..my new baby is by a Polish Champion Hero's Heart Dearvilla..out of Liams Daughter Ir Sh Ch Ardbraccan Lady In Red. so he is a grandson to Liam..
i have added an image of the sire
