Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
Thought you might enjoy seeing a few photos of the vastness of Australia! My husband, John, and our dear friend, Bunny (Chris Warren) drove from Western Australia to Adelaide, in South Australia, a few months ago,for a very successful Labrador Championship Show. They took 5 Labradors with them in my brand new car. It only had 300km's on the clock, but came home a week later with 7000km's registered!!
The photographs show the Nullabor and some of the most beautiful Esperance coastline. There are some interesting signs, which I guess you will never see anywhere else in the world, and the Navman isn't terribly clear, but if you look, it shows "In 440km's, Turn Right !!!!!!!!!!" How bizarre is that! From the car window, in one of the photos you can see the salt lakes, which are scattered across the Nullabor, and the airstrip is for The Royal Flying Doctor Service, which is an absolute necessity for the remote out stations.
If you look at a map of Australia, you will see the distance they drove, is actually just a pin-prick out of the whole country. This is a country with everything - desert, snow, tropical rain forest, and so on. Incredible place to live and so unpopulated. Who is coming over for a holiday???
