Hi everybody,

Meet Rhett, the new family member to me and Ari. Rhett is from the SPCA. His owner fell and broke her hip and after a long sickbed she died. I decided to give Rhett a home for his last years.

Please I need some advice how to introduce him to my two year old Ari.

We already did walkies twice with the two together. At the moment he is at Julies house- she is a foster mum.

Do you think I  must have my head read for adopting an old dog?

I had to give him a home.........he has such a gentle soul!!!

Regards,

Phil

He looks to be a lovely gentle boy. No, You definately do not need your head read. I am sure the two of you will have lots of fun together and make his final years happy. All the best with this lovely boy.xxx

Sad and lovely story at the same time, and beautiful dog!! Usually younger dogs have great respect for the oldies! Best of luck with the new boy;o)

A wonderfull thing for you to do - I am sure he will soon learn to love Ari. Rhett looks to have been well cared for - a lovely set of clean teeth and bright eyes.  Lots of luck with him and I hope he settles in well. The oldies are so special, his grey face makes me smile xx

I have adopted older dogs in the past and it is extremely rewarding.  They seem to know that you have rescued them ... and they thank you every single day.  Thank you for your kind heart and I wish you many years of joy.  I adopted a 9 years old golden and that guy lived to be 15, so you just never know how long you get!  None of us do, of course, so lets all go hug them right now!  :)
