Exclusively Setters

Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

After many years in the making, my dog site finally went live, last year. It started as a tribute to my own dogs, but then I slowly began to expand my idea to include other areas. I have a section for well known kennels, which only has one entry so far, but will grow.

I also have a section called Relatives. This began as a history of the ancestors behind my own boys, but then I began to think that I would like to use it as a means of creating an online record of as many Irish Setters as possible, world wide. I know that Lena has the Irish Setter Pedigree Collection, but I aim for this to be slightly different. My intention is to not only list the dog's details and pedigree, but also photos where possible and any anecdotes about that particular dog. They are not all show dogs either, some have been rescued. Eventually the names in the pedigrees will be linked so that you can trace the ancestors further back.

My ideas about how I wanted this site to be, changed, when after June Coates (Twoacres) died, her daughter very kindly gave me several hundred photos that had belonged to her. I was fascinated to see all the well known dogs and some not so well known, from way back when, that I had only heard about. Once I started looking at what I had, I was also astounded to discover just how much information and material I had collected over the years. I know that this will be a life times work, but I will enjoy doing it and I have already learnt so much.

If you would like to see some of the Golden Oldies, please visit my site at:

If the dogs you are searching for are not there yet, keep checking back, as there are new dogs being added every day. Sorry, but no matter what I did the hyperlink just would not make this web site address live. You can cut and paste the address into your web browser instead, or click on the link in my profile.

Hope you enjoy your visit.

I certainly will Laura, as soon as I come across one. I have so much that until I sort through it I don't know what is missing! If you can let me have your e-mail address I will send it there. Would also be delighted to add any of your dogs to my site.
