Realise what you mean..............no codes until 1976 which starts 1/76.........2/76 etc until 8/76 instead of 8/76 reads A8 9/76 A9 up to A12..... so 1977 is B 1978 C will check on the latter ones later ok

Hi Michelle
Found the first one Brackenfield Red Braid 12/60 one daughter was Guildwich heatherette whom she whelped at the age of 9 years she had quite a few litters in different ownerships.
Thanks for the welcome, I am really pleased to have found this site and know that there are other people who love the breed, feel a bit of a fraud as I do not breed or show Setters. It was seeing 'Debonair' that got me hooked and I had to have one of these colourful characters and Jinty certainly was a character! broke my heart when I lost her, it's sad that they can't go on forever but bless her she tried and now 4 month old Rio will have to wait and see what he get's up to.
Yes, that's Jinty - oop's sorry forgot 'Spirited' - she was registered to me in my maiden name. She was a stunner in her younger days, years ago we were out walking, a chap approached us, he was a Judge, I was amazed that just by looking at her he knew her breeding lines, he thought Jinty was 'superb' , I was over the moon but went on to say I though she was rather on the chunky side, at which point he said 'my dear girl they are working dog's - not bloody super model's!' and it still makes me smile. After Jinty I had been toying with the idea of a rescue Setter, sadly a lot of them are 'older' and I had had an old dog for a long time. I came to the decision that I really needed something younger - perhaps one that had been 'run on', I rang a few people in the North West and into Wales. In the end I contacted Mrs Wall - Elaine, she just told me - 'come and have a look' but I have to say I knew I would be taking him home, I took to Elaine, and - Rio, - 'Hazelbeck's Irish Song' he is a lovely chap, I am really pleased with him he has a great temperament - he goes back to 'Twoacres Edward Bear' on his Sires side.
Best Wishes
Jennifer

Hi michell,,got your e/mail about the old pedigrees,,I have had these a long time since I started with the setters, 1978 ,,,a lady saw me out with them and gave them to me,,she told me that a lady had had them many years ago,and asked me if I wanted them of course I said yes,,put them in a safe place,as you do ,and forgot all about them,,Meg also wants old ones,,she then told me you wanted the oldies, took photocopies and sent them to you so I think thats how you got them,,not to good on this thing[pc] so I will ring you ,,take care Pat x
I have been in the ring with you a couple of times years ago with my old girls (who are sadly not with us anymore). I have seven puppies (now six weeks old) at the moment and they are very time eating. I look forward to blogging again soon. Deborah Cayton-Lee
My girls names were Loshian Lady May and Stearnwood Melissa. Loshian Lady May (shannon) was bred by a friend of mine and went back to the old Brackenfield lines and Stearnwood Melissa was by Balintyne Call My Tune who harked back the great Wendover Gentleman, who she looked very like. I am going to try to return to some of the older lines if I can when I breed from my youngest bitch next year but have not found a suitable dog yet.
Hiya Michelle, that walk sounds ace, are you all doing it next year, my two would just love it, and make some money for I.R. Scunny still sunny, well it was today, Bri Sue xxx
