Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

For the first time in his 3,5 years life, Irish setter dog Thomas is eye-witness of a session with Redwing White Lightning (Clancy). The American bred red setter shows Thomas to point and block a pheasant-cock hidden in a small industrial area in the north of the Netherlands. She holds the point for a long time. Halfway Thomas' nose tells him what happens, when his tail is stiffening.

Thanks for sharing! I have to tell you, my dog (who has only had minimum field training) was totally transfixed by the voice in this video. He leapt to a position in front of the computer and stayed highly alert but frozen until the voice stopped. Wow. I think I want You to train my dog!!!

Hey thats a nice comment Joan Clancy:-)) especially from a musician like you. So your servant am I. Learned that voice in your US of A during trials on horseback. Lets call it working setterblues. Another friend said "this is spooky, dogs were alert at once". Another said "my dog apparently thought a thief was entering":-)))

Henk my 4 month old puppy freaked when he heard me play this. Was napping and jumped up on me to get to the speakers and was completely transfixed by it.

Nice! Thomas is just like our A-Peli 10 months. Looking around, head turning, getting the scent but still so full of it that can´t quite take it easy :))

Enjoying your comment Susan. So I've been singing for Irish setters worldwide:-))) My pup Kells -as old as yours- was very enthusiastic hearing this. Good to hear from you again Katariina, been missing your beautiful pictures!!! Is A-Peli family? Thomas is by Echlin O'Conloch x Grouse, an all red littersister of red and white Harry, sired by Sheantullagh Rampant.

Best blues is inspired by nature, Gennadi. Ref Howlin Wolf. Thomas did totally nothing on fields before ref blogpost Therapy Dog needs Therapy here. A pity, because he is from classy working lines. Lets say better late than never....
