Exclusively Setters

Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

As an interim measure until the official register provided by the Kennel Club is fully up and running, the SEISC has decided to offer an opportunity for owners to post their recent PRA rcd4 DNA test results.
This will be on our PRA rcd4 page.
This is available to all owners worldwide not just SEISC members and will be in a similar format to that already used by the Kennel Club.

For further details please see the Club website www.seisc.co.uk.

Listing will be available sometime today - slight kink in my "html"  !!

I understand your worries Rieky, we share the same opinion.

Fingers crossed for those waiting and will be waiting for their results...

rikey ,marta its good to see our friends from overseas participatin in the forum its a concern for everyone at this present time as to the outcome of all results .for both of you your written english is extremely good and very easily read .wishing you both well in your other results
thank you lyn we keep ower fingers crost

I will keep the fingers crossed for the result of your beautiful burnie! it is so much bad luck for this litter. it is a difficult decision keeping a carrier boy or not. As I am in the lucky situation that my one and only bitch is clear (her father is a carrier, so it was big luck) I see ist very claer: I would prefer a claer dog as stud and if there arre two studs I like I will always choose the clear one, but if the dog I like special is a carrier a would also take him.

Marta, I do hope that your bitch is clear!

Thank you Deb and Sue, kind of you while you are also having a lot to worry about. I of course will let you all know about our results.

Thanks Lyn too for the warm welcome here :-)

Does anyone know whether a statistic on the number of tested dogs exist?

I know about the list for the results sent by the owners, but can we know how many dogs have been tested so far in total?? Just the number would show us the proportion of published and not published results.

It's great that people are testing, and everyone has the right to publish the results or keep them for her/himself. But the numbers without names would show us a bigger picture of the breed which many of us may be pleased with, I think.

So waiting one to come available...

I know it is sad news for you, Rieky, but please do not feel too upset. Houston can still be used at stud and will pass on his qualities.

I desperately hope that the breed clubs manage to get the message across to breeders and pet owners that we can not afford to discard carrier dogs! We need to maintain a wide gene pool or else...

agree with other members rieky it is not the result you wanted and your dog will not go blind.hes a lucky boy who will still be able to be used at stud.

thank you susan

and thanks for all the nice and lovely words

totally agree Susan!!

Thanks for sharing these lists.

When the times come I will send my results to you.
