Exclusively Setters

Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

As an interim measure until the official register provided by the Kennel Club is fully up and running, the SEISC has decided to offer an opportunity for owners to post their recent PRA rcd4 DNA test results.
This will be on our PRA rcd4 page.
This is available to all owners worldwide not just SEISC members and will be in a similar format to that already used by the Kennel Club.

For further details please see the Club website www.seisc.co.uk.

Listing will be available sometime today - slight kink in my "html"  !!

Thank you Wilko, it just goes to show how mountains can be made from mole hills. I'm sure that will put many peoples minds at rest.

I agree Diane......misinformation resulting in unnecessary panic.  Thankfully it is all sorted. Thank you Wilko for publishing the statement.

Many thanks Wilko

A pat on the back for you, Gillian and SEISC, for taking the decision to circulate testing results for PRA rcd 4.  Having been deeply involved with co-ordination of DNA testing for CLAD & PRA rcd 1 in South Africa, I know all too well the demands this places on one's time. I also note the posting of results on UK Kennel Club website.

We are currently looking at DNA testing for PRA rcd 4 as South Africa has many Irish with European ancestry, but am I correct in believing Gordon Setters are also involved?  Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction to find further information.  Our pool of Gordons is small in this country, but we would endevour to test them along side the Irish. I'm sure someone out there has the answer, please share.

Hi Bridget,

Yes it is also found amongst Gordons. I will email you the latest article I have on it.

My sweet "Amber" - Lofty AMBER WIND (Irish Melody Lucky Luke & Tequila Special Sour Mahoniowa Bryza) - Clear !!!  I'm so happy !!!

Just got  Rua's PRArcd4 results and she is a Clear;o) No need to test Milo or Megan now, as their Dad, Caskeys Vaguely Scottish is also a Clear;o)
