Absolutely dedicated to the breed, along with English Setters.
Born in England, I moved to Australia as a child, and in my teens started importing Irish Setters from Wendover Kennels, and English Setters from Suntop Kennels. My latest Irish imports in 2004, 2009 and another in 2013 are all from the beautiful Copper's Kennel in Sweden.
I am a qualified Championship Judge for All Gundogs and the Non Sporting Group, and an Open Show Judge for all Toys, Terriers and Hounds.
My judging takes me all over the world, something I enjoy immensely.
Thanks Myra. Clyde came back home yesterday, happier to know he is home with us all. Once again thankyou for letting us come and see all your beautiful babies on Sunday. I would love to visit your family every day as while I was there on Sunday the pain I have had since Clyde left us just seemed a little easier. We all feel the urgency for Dexter even more now. Also thankyou for introducing me to this site and all your photos of your babies are gorgeous. I see Clyde in so many of them especially the ones of Gemma. Clyde's spirit is definately waiting at the gates of Amhurst to be reborn for us. Thanks again for everything. Gail xo :)
Many thanks for the invitation Myra and very happy to become your ES friend!!! You are the extremely lucky Lady with many many many setters!!! how envious I am! and how happy I am that you are sharing so much with us on this site.
When it is quiet and the Eastern browns do not come down to the water's edge the Southport Broadwater is a nice place for Setters to paddle their paws. The weather has been incredibly humid and hot but at least we have all been safe unlike those living in North Queensland.
I am happy to be your friend. My sister-in-law Sarah Baker breeds Irish Wolfhounds in Adelaide. We really want to visit her, but we run our own business and we are just much too busy at the moment.
Thanks for your comment on our 10k run. I think Mai is trimming down well. I would love to know how much she has lost. When we were at the beach and she had got wet she was looking a little leaner. She loves the runs. Suzanne
Thanks again, Myra! It was an enjoyable day - unbelievable warm and springlike for Feb - sometimes, we get snow again in April, but only for a few days. All the best, Cornelia
Hi Myra, nice to see one of my Facebook friends on here. Hope you and all your dogs are well. As for me I'm looking forward to my first time as an exhibitor at Crufts with Monty.
Many thanks for your well wishes for Lego, glad you liked his picture. We're all hoping it'll solve his problems as he must be pretty fed up with it all by now...nearly a year so he could certainly do with some good news :) Thanks again.
Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, but have got to agree, can't imagine why anyone would want to go out there voluntarily but hey what the hell do I know...
Thanks Myra ! Lego's statically charged look always brings a smile to my face...maybe not the best look for the show ring but always funny to look at :) and I wouldn't change him a bit.
Myra thank you for you birthday wishes for Holly. Yes we are going to Crufts more than likely tomake up the numbers as Holly is my first show dog and setter. I am quite excited about it and hope that I manage to stay up right at least. Thanks for the good luck wishes. Yvonne x
Thank you so much, Myra! Now I ust learn to handle my new camera :-) hope, you all are fine! Glenn and Jamie enjoy the last snow, and me too. but I glad to expect the spring time... take care and and a big hug to all of you
Thank you very much ..... I read on my BlackBerry and wondered how does Myra know!? Then I realised ...... Very nice of you to take the time to say happy birthday though! Did I read some where that things went well and you are expecting a litter? And of course hopefully another one too! Hope all goes well xx
Hi Myra...many thanks for the birthday wishes...I had a lovely sunny day...which was a real bonus...!! Hope you are all keeping well...and good luck with all your new 'babies'...!!
Thank you for the birthday greetings Myra....it has been a beautiful day here....and perfect finish was a nice walk with our Molly. Have a great weekend/
Thanks Myra, had a great day wine tasting on the SWan River, yes we were in Perth!! Tried to get your number but with no luck, met up with Andrea, next time??
Thank you for welcoming me to Exclusively Setters. I was woofer sitting for a friend on Sunday in Newport Pagnell and was out walking Storm & Molly (Lab & Westie) when I turned and saw the most amazing sight.....8 glorious Irish Setters galloping across the field, I had to stop to get my camera out. I managed to meet up with their owner who I now know is Rosie. We lost our Danny last September and despite still having 4 woofers in the house (photo below), he has left such a hole in ours lives. I wish my mum had been with me on Sunday..........brought a tear to my eye.
I have admired your irish on the net for some time and i know they are all based on the James' old lines, as are mine. I will post some pics over the next few days.
Myra thanks whilst he is still tired he is going to be just fine. But everyone's support means lots I felt it was important to share this experience on here should anyone need it in the future x
Hi Myra ! Punk is right..only he doesn't need any hair gel...it's all natural :) I'll have to get him one of those spikey dog collars, make him look tough :)
Thank you Myra, for welcoming me to ES can't wait to choose our Murfee on Saturday. It's over 7 years since we lost our beautiful Paddy to cancer at 9 will post photos of Murfee when we have some
