Snow, sun, shower of hails and super setters stamped the European championship for working Irish setters in Sarry, France on Monday. Eventually weather gods seemed to favor this setter event in Spring. Luckily it was mostly the sun being a main actor in scenes.
The championship was won by French dog Urtis de la Chaume Rigault, owned by Pernin, trialed by well known professional trainer Daniel Munini. Another dog trialed by the same trainer, Apache des Sorcieres du Sancy, won a price for Irish style on Sunday.
Eye catching
Most eye-catching event was chosing an Irish setter with the best Irish style, held on Sunday-evening. Judgement is based on the Official description of the working style as made by the Irish Red Setter Club in Ireland.
Preceding the European championship organized by the Irish Setter Club Deutschland (Germany) there was a Semaine Setter Irlandaise (Irish Setter Week) with CACIT-trials and special classes for youngsters.
Trying to post a very small clip here on request of Susan. If it doesn't work I'll post it in my video-section. It gives you an idea of the speed of setters involved plus terrrains. Next teams, judges, style-winner and Clancy.
