We left civilization with our offroad vehicle, grouseseekers best friend
The Range Rover to search birdies for our dogs. We drove far enough into the deepest lappish mountain areas, actually my husband takes all his clients there to hunt every year. This place has never let the hunter down, so it didn´t this time either.
At first we saw this eagle and I was prepared to say"the only thing with wings was an eagle"
.
but, for once I was wrong :)...
The little cottage where we lived and our best friend,
the Range Rover
We started our walk from the cabin and we where about 150m from it when our best dog, the mixture Woitto was found by the lake
There was a brood of 7 grouse. Then it was time for Evita to take over and whoops! one of the grouses was very near and caught our little hunter by suprise and swept her under her feet :)
you can see the bird in front of her on the ground...
then the birdie was flushed away
Our young englishsetter Sheriff first forgot that he was a setter and thought that he was a flying instructor. He was sure that his job was to teach the birds to fly far and fast so that the foxes can not eat them :)
but after a moment of truth with
Dad, he started to remember the deep meaning of a hunting dog
The hunting season in Lapland starts the 20th of September so we couldn´t shoot any down yet. That is why I could take photos of these so much
Our setters enjoyed and showed miraculous endurance and acted all perfectly. Here is Evita and Woitto
^What is this called in english? It is "sekundering" in norwegian and swedish...same happens here. Our dogs do honor each other
Our old lady Wanda ( 9years and 6months) is still in perfect condition. She is amazing oldish setter...
Saturday started in quite a foggy weather
but it did not disturb us
the wind did not blow at all
But it didn´t stop our setters from searching
Sorry about the amount of pictures! But as you can see I was quite happy for our dogs sake. After searcing for empty land, the prize for finding game is making my season! :)
