Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
I'm quite a bit behind schedule with posting these photos - so this blog will take you back into springtime :-)).
The trees that now groan under the far too early summer heat are here stil on the way to get green leaves.
A cowslip (primula veris) in backlight:
This is one of the most beautiful hiking places in Switzerland - those hills/mountains extend from Zurich to Geneva and you could cross them east-west in about a fourtnight (and yes, I got rid of that ugly pink jacket by now!).
Our path is getting steeper now - there's a jogger in front of us, training for the uphill race the following Saturday - but we are not in such a hurry...
The Swiss are very careful about the 'difficulty' of their hiking-paths - when they say the path is easy and there is one bit, that might not quite fit the description, they install a rope or chain for 'moral support'.
In April our hikes were stil no longer than 3-4 hours - this cable car provided an excellent place to interrupt the tour without having to walk up again the next day. We started so early, that most people only just arrived, when we returned home - this photo was taken at 11.30 in the morning. We have unusual hot weather this year in Switzerland!
This is the latest sport in Switzerland: A rope garden. Here you can test your balance and feel of heights, secured on a rope with climbing gear and helmet. It looks like fun but is a no-go for Joy!
Joy getting into the stil moving cable car - with a little help from me to not get caught in the gap with a paw.
Nearly a week later, we went up again and finally reached the top!
Good girl! Joy is on the halti, because it's going steep down on the other side! From here you can see the Alps on a clear day. We could only see haze!! For better view, we'll have to go up in autumn or even on a cold January day.
Most photos courtesy of my husband. To be continued ...
Oh Cornelia your photos are absolutely breath takeing i am so envious
of you having all that beautiful scenery and all the great places for you and Joy to walk
looking forward to seeing more all the best Martina
