What a gorgeous old boy.  So sorry for your loss, but what a blessing having him to old age.

Your ole boy reminds me a lot of my Dudley who is now 14 yrs, 1 month.  I'm very sorry for your loss. As parent of an 'oldie' I can relate.  I rescued Dudley at 12 yrs--a clueless new dog parent-- and so we haven't had that much time together. He remains playful, alert, and treat driven. Has a hearty appetite. And he goes everywhere with me in the car, even into shops and assisted living homes. His health is good other than arthritis in hind quarters. He gets hydrotherapy which is keeping him on his feet. I'd like to start a group for 'keeping old dogs young." Am encouraged to see I.S living longer than breed lifespan expectations. The head of the IS society here said I'd be lucky to get him to 13 yrs because he's so big!  But good diet, exercise and acupuncture actually made him younger. Gray hair fell out and came back red this winter!. Dudley also plays 'brain game' toys to keep his mind alert which proves you can teach old dog new tricks. Still I mourn & dread the day I lose him....already. He's only my 2nd dog and first I.S.

Belated, sincere condolences also Sue for your lovely Rumor, as this was before i joined ES. Don't even want to contemplate what it will be like for me when mine passes. Regards, James & Romeo.

What sweet, soulful eyes. Noble tilt of the head. Don't the seniors take on a 'regal' air about them? Lost my best buddy Dudley this June. Like your guy he was a puppy to the end. Inquisitive. Affectionate. Playful. Delighted in being alive. Wishing you sweet memories of a lovely boy!
