Our Thoughts Are With The People Of The UK.

To all my wonderful friends in the UK. It only seems like yesterday that I was enjoying a wonderful holiday with you all and enjoying some wonderful Irish Setters :-). Now as I watch the news I see terrible footage of looting and the burning of lovely buildings and more sadly peoples homes and cars in many cities across the UK.

Please stay safe all of you. Sadly doing the job I do I saw the way the youth had little respect toward other people and property in prison and the severity of their crimes reflected it. That is why we made the hard decision to move to New Zealand but I still miss the UK.

Many New Zealanders have relations and friends in the UK so I know that I am not alone when I say that we all hope these events pass quickly. Thankfully there are more good people in the world than bad.

Our love and thoughts are with you all both human and those gorgeous setters

Thank you Joanne although we live in the depths of Kent we are not immune to what is happening in other areas of the UK. It is so sad with people losing their homes, businesses, workplaces etc. Right now I feel ashamed to call myself British what has gone wrong on this beautiful little island that so many people seem to want to destroy it for future generations. I watched in horror last night as the Reeves Furniture store in Croydon went up in flames established in the 1860's and passed down from generation to generation, my old school The Old Palace is just around the corner and I hoped and prayed the flames would not reach it. Once again thank you for thinking of us.

I don't think any of us can believe what is going on, and as a British/Australian citizen, I am grateful that Australia is an island, and we can have a say in who is allowed in to this country.I am extremely loyal to England, and would love to move back one day. It breaks our hearts to see what is currently happening.

I keep watching the news and I'm still having trouble to believe this terrible news. I hope all this is over soon. My thoughts are with those who have lost something or are scared of losing anything.

I'd love to say something more meaningful or profound, but I'm not able to put my thoughts and feelings in words right now.

I just wish all this is over soon.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts.I watch the news with ever increasing horror.Someone described the youths doing most of the criminal acts as feral. An apt description.

Thirty years ago I worked in Tottingham and went home each weekend (I lived in Birmingham) even than it wasn't safe to go on the streets alone at night. Now the children of those who were on the streets then are the ones doing the attacking now.And Birmingham has been attacked as well.

I am deeply saddened.

I for one thank you Joanne...I sometimes think that the world has gone compleetly mad....we are lucky up here in Scotland don't think that it has hit us here yet...and yet being the operative word....this is not rioting it is just greedy visious bullies taking what they want and then damaging everything in their paths...horible...I too am saddened by this Howard, but the question is when will it all stop..why cannot people just be nice to each other...it is so easy to do..why strike out at every one and everything...?????

Again thank you for your thoughts Joanne...

thank you to all of you...we are here just 20 miles east of London and there is a lot of fear that it will spread as a lot of people around this way have connections in LDN.  It's disgusting to see SOME youths behaving in this manner. I just hope the media don't whirl it up and start tarring people with the same brush.  Two deaths have now happened, countless items stolen and people's entire livelihoods destroyed.  Enough is enough. It makes me cry with anger to see what these imbeciles are doing.

Thank you Joanne - it seems surreal that that the riots are actually here in England instead of a distant despot country. Still, when the culprits are arrested I am sure they will appreciate the Lawyer that comes 'free of charge' to defend the indefensible.
