Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

Stil at home, Joy cast a last glance towards the nearby forest before we were once more heading north:
We visited most of the places before and I therefore had time for details - here we are in Eisenach, Germany:

On a wall in Erfurt:
More details from the city of Erfurt:
We all like fountains:
... but the water was not nice to drink:

The 'Krämerbrücke' in Erfurt, a bridge with houses on top - the river is called Gera and Joy had a quick bath:

On our arrival at the four star hotel, Joy went straight to the shower and unmistakingly told me, that she was thirsty - and hearing a horse carriage (a tourist attraction!), she probably wondered, why she could only see the rooftops from the twelfth floor!

Some of you already know that I am a musician (violoncello), Johann Seabstian Bach is my favourite composer: He was born and christened in Eisenach; his remains are buried in Leipzig:

That particular Saturday, Leipzig could bost itself of one further attraction: Joy's charme and sometimes clownish behaviour brought many a smile on peoples faces and I think next time I will take a basket or put a hat on the ground to gather some Euros to spoile her with a 'Thüringer Bratwurst'.

This is the church from where the peace marches started, that played an important role in the opening of the inner German border. Everybody was welcome, even Joy!

Our next stop was Quedlinburg; here you can see the town hall of this beautiful place, well worth to be part of the UNESCO world heritage:

Some details of the beautiful houses:

Quedlinburg castle:

Some friendly inhabitantsand another fountain - the 'kiss' photo was staged to the amusement of the passerbys with the help of a piece of dried chicken neck ...

One special postcard photo from our next stop Wittenberg to Kerstin:

In and arround the 'Schlosskirche' of Wittenberg:

And one last photo inside the last city, we visited (while passing through): The rebuilt 'Freuenkirche' in Dresden:

So you're tired of sightseeing now? So are we!

Enjoy the autumn colours in the Saxon Switzerland National Park, east of Dresden:

... and at a lake near the Castle of Rothenhaus / Cerveny Hradek in the Erz Mountains in Czechia:

Oooohhh - they are loading the car to go home :-((.

All photos © Cornelia Hahn 2010 (except three from the Leipzig collage, coutesy of my husband) - thanks for stil being with me after all those pics :-)).

... simply unique, Cornelia!
With an extraordinary love of detail - not the standard travel description.
Thank you that you have presented many places I know very well in such a wonderful way. Besides, the church in Leipzig is called "Nikolaikirche" und the church in Dresden, that was nearly wiped off during the bombing of the Anglo-American allied forces in 1945, is the "Frauenkirche".
Your autumn impressions are going to put the finishing touch to your blog!
I would like to send you a photo of the small Luther collection that was installed in September on the Market Place.
