Has anyone read the novel, " I, Malcolm" by Blaize Clement? It's about a family's Irish Setter that witnessed their child's kidnapping. Years later, he spotted the kidnapper and was fatally shot. He comes back in spirit to attempt to reunite his family with their child. I'm only about half way through the book, but it's been a good read.
Sounds like my sort of book Kimberly, I think that I will get a copy for summertime reading in the garden, watching my lovely girls sunbathing. Let you know if this turns out to be a favourite of mine, thank you for sharing <:0)
It would be great for that Angela. It's told in the first person through Malcolm so it's an easy read. I got the kindle edition; I really like "books" but have found that I can read the Kindle in bed with the lights out and no loud page turning to disturb my husband. : )
Thanks for the tip, Kimberly! Reading an article about the death of the author Blaize Cement in the Herald Tribune makes the story even more dramatic. http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/20110727/ARTICLE/110729607?p=3... This tells "Clement's e-book, "I, Malcolm," written from the perspective of a dog in heaven"....."was written after her cancer diagnosis."
Thanks Henk. I just happened to run across the e-book, so I hadn't read about the author yet.
I know, I had never seen this until you posted it awhile back....I just love it!!!
Keep some tissues handy while reading this book, Angela! You'll laugh....then you'll cry....then you'll laugh...
Hi Kimberly, when you first posted this book I googled it to see if I could find it, I can only find it as an E.book and I like to hold a real paper book so donn`t have a kindle. This is not the first time this has happened and I may have to come into the 21 centery and get one, this will be the first book I shall bye. Thanks for the info <:0)
Took Dougal for his Vet visit on Friday and our Dr. said that it was the BIG RED stories that first got him interested in becoming a Vet. : ) He said you don't see them much around here anymore but coincidentally, Dougal was the second IS patient that day! He just loves the breed.
Enjoy Valerie. We found it on DVD and it gets played once every winter. Snugg on the couch with my two reds.
