Exclusively Setters

Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

As an interim measure until the official register provided by the Kennel Club is fully up and running, the SEISC has decided to offer an opportunity for owners to post their recent PRA rcd4 DNA test results.
This will be on our PRA rcd4 page.
This is available to all owners worldwide not just SEISC members and will be in a similar format to that already used by the Kennel Club.

For further details please see the Club website www.seisc.co.uk.

Listing will be available sometime today - slight kink in my "html"  !!

Sandra, a carrier result is OK, as Jean said! Find a nice clear dog and there are lots to choose from;o)

Thank you both I just need to find a dog now do you know where the best place is to look?

I would have a word with your breeder in the first instance or if you know the attributes you are looking for check the KC site for the clears and then choose a dog to compliment your bitch.

Thank you I am new to this so any help is much appreciated.

I've just received the email to say that Rigsby is clear so I'm extremely happy...

DNA TEST FOR GENE CAUSING PROGRESSIVE RETINAL ATROPHY (rcd4)

Re: RCDD2993  (INDIAN BOY JAY Slovak Base) Owner: Jaroslav FILIP

INDIAN BOY JAY Slovak Base - CLEAR

so please for you lesley and jaroslav

I have just received the good news that the sire of my C-litter, Anlory Muscavado, has been tested CLEAR of PRA-rcd4 aged 12 years.

This is a relief as it means none of the pups born to 'Erin' Northern Light vh Adelaarsvaren (carrier) in 2005 (C-litter) or 2008 (D-litter by Copper's Mean Mr Mustard tested CLEAR) will be 'affected' by PRA rcd4.

I am grateful to both the stud dog owners for having them tested.

excellent newa!

You will be so relieved, Susan.

Good news!

Thanks for all your messages. It is a relief to know.
