On Saturday Dec. 6th we had the first 'Coppersheen International Field Day' in the Alsace, France. Six Irish of my breeding plus Duncan as a 'special guest' enjoyed learning a bit about setter work in the field. No JH to boast about yet. I have to wait until March for the next local hunt tests. But I took Timmy out in November to our very first hunt tests. (first for BOTH of us). We passed our first time out, and I was hooked... and came back the next weekend for 2 more!! I really wish I hadn't waited until the end of the season to try it....... but 3 out of 4 ain't bad!! I got to go hunting with my Master and didn't find any birds. Actually I didn't know what to do, as I haven't been trained.
I did get into a briar patch and the stickery bush was terribly painful. My Master had to cut the hair on one of my ears so I've lost my beautiful long hair....at least on one ear. The hair under my arm pits had to be cut too. The stickers (burrs) were embedded into my hair, close to the skin. I couldn't sit, I couldn't walk, I couldn't lay down without yelping.… Continue
Whoa, he has been going so well. Leigh & I are nearly bursting with pride. But thanks must also go to his owners/backers who have realised his great potential as an ultimate show dog like his dearest dam before him.
"Aurora" Grand Ch Pendoric Fire N'Ice was Australias first Grand Champion Irish setter bitch. She loved the show ring & it was evident every time she put her foot into it. RIP Aurora.
