Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
We managed once more to travel all the way up to the most northern part of Europe and this time it was only 10'294 km! That is more than 1000km less than in 2011:-)) http://irishsetters.ning.com/profiles/blogs/10-563-km-later. Joy is a very travel experienced 'Red Bundle…

Hello again! Let's continue our adventure through Norway! You might remember from my last blog, that our 'ingredients' of this trip was: A bad weather forecast, an active and full of energy Setter (me) and two keen photographers. Luckily all of us share one great hobby: Ornithology! So we went to look for birds - the one above is one kind of birds he likes very much…

This summer, so they told me, we were to go back to some of the beautiful places in Norway we've seen last year for extended hikes. I was very much looking forward to this and eagerly helped cleaning their shoes and stretched out my paws because they needed waxing too. …

For a long time I wanted to take Joy to Venice to have fun with the pigeons on Piazza San Marco - so finally, we managed - just follow the direction of her smiling face and then look upwards from the two shadows:
But our Joy does not only 'laugh' a lot herself, she is also in the habit of bringing a smile on the face of perfect strangers. She would make a…

On the 22nd of February, we walked all around the Lake of Hallwil in Switzerland, beginning at the moated castle of Hallwil. The temperatures were still below zero that particular morning:

This year snow came late but then, there was so much snow in 'Winter Wonderland', that Joy could even play on the balcony:
We rented the same apartment as two years ago and Joy remembered the place immediately running to and fro with a…

Finally, I'm able to tell you of the last part of our journey. It took her a very long time to stitch the above 360° panorama; yes, it's going all way round and it is made out of 20 upright photos! She stood on a rock and I just heard the clicks, while she was turning evenly on her heels (click on panorama to see in full saturation). Are you quite…

Ah, well - these photographers!! No further comment on that photo!! We just sometimes have different interests :-). We went from Sogne Fjord up into the mountains - this is just one of the glacier arms coming down from Josterdal's Breen (breen = glacier) - the pool was great to have a splash!!…

It was a long way up to the north and we took many ferries, but I was a very well behaved girl and was rewarded with a piece of steak from his plate in the 'Steak- and Fish House' on the ferry!
After visiting a friendly vet and only receiving…

... we're back home again - Joy tells me to sort through the more than 3000 photos soon, for she has quite a story to tell - of adventurous hikes, of reindeers and lemmings and of beautiful beaches. The photo above was taken at 22.25 on the 19th of July; the sun later disappeared in the clouds on the horizon - so we did not see it at midnight but we call ourselves fortunate…

With the rain passed and Joy's paw on the mend, we continued with the next stage; here we are leaving the village of Büren and in the back you can see the rocks, we passed last time:
The famous cherry trees of this area (back right) are not yet in…

We are back to where we've been twice before and can now lock outside and enjoy the beautiful weather from the sofa. Since her small accident last Autumn (one nail got caught in the frame of our garden door; all healed properly), one part of Joy's paw seems to be stil more dry and prone to tears, especially in cold weather or when absorbed in play and turning on her backhand.…
