We are heartbroken as we write this tribute to NZ CH AMHURST BORROWED HEAVEN, but known to us at home as Kerry or the Cookie Cruncher. On Thursday we lost our much adored girl very suddenly and unexpectedly. Kerry was our foundation bitch from Myra Thomas Rhodes and since her arrival she brought a special sparkle into our home and certainly kept us on our toes. It is with a broken heart that I write this blog. Our beautiful girl, Tara, was tragically taken from us on 4 August 2012 in a tragic accident. Not only was Tara a wonderful show dog but she was also the perfect advocate for the breed, happy go lucky, a superb nature and adored everyone and everything in life especially children. Tara thought the world was a safe and wonderful place and unfortunately her trustful nature and curiosity led her to being taken from us far before her…

Having welcomed 9 beautiful babies into the world on 28 May 2012 from Eamonn and Nuela, the fun and worry of rearing them and then the painful selection of suitable homes for them. Our beautiful Miss Pink went to what I thought would be a caring, responsible and secure home. NZ CH Coppers Midsummer Magic (Eamonn ) and CH Marindallas Nuela (Nuela), would like to introduce their lovely red family of five boys and four girls that arrived on 28 May 2012. This litter combines some lovely New Zealand, UK and Swedish lines.

Our precious girl, Kerry, (AMHURST BORROWED HEAVEN) gave birth to 14 darling babies on 3 February 2012, sired by Reuben (KENEALLY RED RAPHAEL). Kerry is very proud to introduce her large family of 10 cute boys and 4 special little girls. Not a Setter I know but still very much loved all the same. We had to say goodbye to our dear little Welsh Terrier, Bridie last Tuesday after a long illness. You were always such a happy little soul and adored all the new Setter puppies. The house will never be the same without you again but we could watch you suffer no more. Rotorua Championship Show on 29 October 2011 was this year judged by Lynn Parekowhai, an English Setter specialist from New Zealand. Our little team of red heads did us very proud despite the rain and we are happy to report the following.

On Saturday the little Swedish rascal won the dog challenge and achieved his Championship Title (subject to NZKC confirmation) under Pam Douglas from New Zealand.The little darling also won junior of breed. Not bad for such a young man of 19 months old.

Eamonn is fun to show and adores having a trip around the ring with his favorite young handlers Danielle and Ashley. He will have a small break now and I will hopefully be concentrating on his young son and daughter, Dublin and…

Thankyou to everyone that commented on my blog about the little orphan English Setter puppy called Boss, surrendered to the SPCA by his owner because he was not interested in pheasants.. So many asked to be kept informed of his wellbeing that I am delighted to be able to post this blog.

Boss was visited today by a lovely gentleman from Auckland and his family, who already had experience of owning a Gordon Setter. Despite informing them of his one or two bad habits :-) it was obvious…

After years of waiting we have at last welcomed our English Setter baby, Lodema Windsor Knight, or just Windsor as he is known at home, into our family. I thought the Irish were full of themselves but this little man really does think he is a hot little fella and is very much look at me please and no one else. We have learned so much already about this wonderful breed and we are sure that young Windsor will give us many laughs and special moments in the future.

It is hard to believe that Eamonn (COPPERS MIDSUMMER MAGIC) has been with us a year. It only seems like yesterday since the swedish rascal bounded out of his crate at Auckland airport and appeared none the worse from his very long flight from Sweden. He has done us proud with many best of breeds, reserve of breeds, baby puppy and puppy in group and shows and junior of groups. He is also well on the way to his title.

Well the youngsters belonging to Kerry (Amhurst Borrowed Heaven) and Eamonn (Coppers Midsummer Magic) are seven weeks old today. What a super bunch of dudes they are too and we have thoroughly enjoyed having them with us.
