Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

A fresh start for new adventures. Young Summertime Lady from Ireland races fields near Grenaa, Denmark.

If you meet a promising Derby youngster, Ella von Kappellenpfad from Germany but with Danish lineage leading to the famous Lasse, you might lose a race.

Time for a break for young Lady near the sea.

Meanwhile a Norwegian red setter and German partner race Danish grounds.

Time for Lady to rest in the car beneath Clancy from the USA while Giulla O'Conloch is entered in the hunting day together with Brittannies and (right) Irmuns May Theis from Tommy Pedersen. Theis is foreseen partner for Giulla next spring, they made one hell of a huntingteam.

Looks like they had fun in Denmark. Theis looks like a great partner for Giulla!

Thanks Astrid yes Theis looks like a one in all, great allround hunter, specialist, field trialer, show. His sire is Riders on the Storm and this was typical for the journey last weekend: storm over Denmark.

Ah, I see new plans for 2012... I see you had a brilliant time in Denmark whilst we enjoyed the Netherlands. It must be due to the season: Go North;-)

Your young Lady is very beautiful Henk and seems to be full of energy!!!!  No doubt she will be very fit to hunt, so nice to see dogs having fun and enjoying themselves.

Thanks Susan. Yes Go North is certainly option 1 to work setters. And thanks Chantal, yes Irish Lady is blinding beautiful for a working setter in my eyes:-) She's too young to say anything more than  she sure had fun!

The weather looks better there than here in Scotland...(blizzards and everything else that nature can throw at us)...looks like you both....(Henk and Susan) had the best of it....great fun for the dogs though....good luck with your new girl Henk....

Well Dee nothing is what it looks like. Underway to Denmark it looked as if the sea spread over mainroads. But it was a straight blue sky under which Giulla hunted. Storm 'n thunder is my favorite settterweather. And yes Lady is a perfect girl to warm up all of it!

Henk, can you tell me the trial and show results that Theis has ? Tommy asked me about mating as well and I felt Theis being rather old and still not used for mating made me wonder. So if you know any details I am keen to know.

Hello Christiane, Tommy Kramer Pedersen is on Facebook so you can ask him directly. There was a result in trial (small) and show (1excellent). Nothing compared to his granddam Jasmine, who I saw beating the top of ES and pointers in Poland. But not used CAN in my philosophy be a reason to use him. I'm not so impressed by titles, huntingpractise goes above competitionresults but thats ofcourse a strictly personal view. Your thoughts?

Tommy has contacted me on facebook in may this year and only repeated that Theis is famous,-))) And hey....you should know that I never go for the opinions and judgements of other people on trials or shows.,-))))

Few years ago we used a "big fat show dog from Poland ! Only for financial reasons ! Sold some puppies to non-hunters..." How I loved that gossip,-))) And see what happened ? These puppies rock the trials and hunting grounds of europe and last weekend one of them gained the title of Int.FT.Ch. The owners have passed hunting license. Three bitches are been bred from this year and I am not unhappy to hear that some french people bought their offsprings.

Theis is rather young indeed, but bragging alone doesn't make him interesting for breeding for me. Reminds me of old Lasse....whom I had on my arms as a pup. He never was famous in Denmark and got only very small trial result. But you know that he turns up in Lohmann's pedigrees a lot, just like his litter mates.
