Today is Bella's first birthday so in honour a Liver Cake was made, frosted with cream cheese, piped with salmon pate (bit of a mistake - lumps of salmon kept getting stuck in the nozzle) and lettered with finely sliced carrot. Whilst this was not up to the beauty that was Rafferty's cake (much kudos to Deb for an outstanding effort) it seemed to hit the spot for Bella and her best mate Rex who was invited round for lunch. The birthday buffet included dried liver, venison and beef sausage, and cheese and biscuits.

Sadly in the chaos that was handling a 1 yr old Setter, a 6 month old Patterdale Terrier, and a 3 year old child, neither Rachel (our obedience trainer) nor I managed to take any photos of the birthday party. We humans happily had our own chocolate cake to mark the occasion.

Round two of celebrations due tonight when Mr B returns from his travels abroad.

I shall put the other photos of Bella's big day on my page as I'm not convinced I've got a handle on this blogging business........

Thank you all for your birthday wishes, I think Bella had a great day (hard to tell as she always has a waggy tail) topped off by the return of Mr B after 10 days away - that was the best present of all and got the waggiest tail. All of the cake has now been consumed and life has sadly returned to normal. Sigh.
