Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
Hi everybody,
Meet Rhett, the new family member to me and Ari. Rhett is from the SPCA. His owner fell and broke her hip and after a long sickbed she died. I decided to give Rhett a home for his last years.
Please I need some advice how to introduce him to my two year old Ari.
We already did walkies twice with the two together. At the moment he is at Julies house- she is a foster mum.
Do you think I must have my head read for adopting an old dog?
I had to give him a home.........he has such a gentle soul!!!
Regards,
Congratulations on your new addition. He looks a lovely boy and I'm sure you will cope.
As for advice, well I would'nt even try to give any. Irish have minds of their own and will adapt.
I'm still trying to sort my own girls out they are Molly 5yrs and Grace 7months
Great move, Phil!
An old setter needs only his own home, lots of love and caresses. And sometimes peace. Everything will be OK, I'm sure.
Your two boys soon we'll be good friends;-)
He's a lovely old fellow...well done you for giving him a loving home to play out his time.
I'm sure he will fit in fine with young Ari...just work out in your mind where he will have his own space...and Ari of course! Give them time together and time apart, and then they'll tip everything upside down and do it their way of course :-))
Hi Phil,
Astrid.
