Hi Cheryl thanks for your congratulations .Level 2 is set by the Aus.Pet Dog Trainers (APDT)association all training is gentle method no pulling and choking just praise and treats level 2 you can only treat after the end of each  exercise, level one you treat at every sit or drop and so on  and at level 2 there is more required of the dog .It starts with a heeling routine that the examiner calls out, included is several turns with sit drop stands and how parallel the dog is at each cue and how attentive the dog is to your call. Then there are sit ,drop and stand stays each are 6 or 7 good paces away from the dog for 20 seconds the dog must not move feet or shift position no treat until the completion of all stays. then recall the examiner holds the dog you move away about a minimum of 20m he must come straight to you and sit in front  and finally retrieve an object of your choosing  he lost 2 points here cause he played with it before he brought it back all sections are marked out of 5 and very easy to loose points if the team work is poor, i'm thrilled he got 5 out of 5 for all sections except retrieve

cheers Peter

Hi Cheryl, Thanks for your welcome. I remember you from my trialling and showing days. Haven't done either for many a year, and I have one little bitch which Rosemary has just started showing for me. Her first show was awarded with Minor puppy in show, so hope she continues to do well.

All this is new to me so when I work it all out, I will get some photos up!

Are you still trialling? I know you still show as Rosemary has told me you imported a little girl from England.

Bye for now,

Jan

Hi Cheryl....wasn't,t sure if you would know the prefix or breeder of my first Irish but when I looked at your pedigrees I was surprised to see Jassy's relatives! Jassy was Aust Ch Rustmoor Red Arrow CDX - the first litter Ali Neilsen bred. We had a wonderful show career and my parents took her to her Obedience titles. She was a beautiful Wendover type bitch - very elegant and most aloof to strangers but mad as a hatter at home! Her sire was Don Mahoney's boy Ch Dubliner Gentleman who had Amhurst lines behind him as well as Glen Orley's beautiful Ari making him Jassy's grandfather. I caught up with Glen at Durack a couple of weeks ago - he also is an oldie getting back into the show scene and we had a wonderful time reminiscing and recalling the "good old days" lols! I eventually mated Jassy to John and Jane Ross' gorgeous boy Ch Inishlarne Tfa Triumph which produced my beautiful girl Ch Maughold Touch O'Jazz - Brianna. Sadly I lost Brianna When she was 4 - she escaped during a terrible storm and we found her the next morning hit by a car. Broke my heart totally and have never had another Irish. I also had Golden Retrievers and it was one of my Golden friends who has persuaded me to return to the show ring. I started my show hobby with a golden and an Irish so history will be repeating itself 30 years later!!! Nice to chat - hope to do so again... Perhaps we may catch up around the rings one day. :)

Hi Cheryl... I am pretty sure I will have a copy of the pedigree in Jassy's memory box which is buried in my garage somewhere! Have just re-read what I sent before and have realised that I put Ari on the wrong side of the equation....he is Aust Ch Orlewin Aristocrat and was her maternal grandfather not paternal....her mother's call name (I think from memory) was Freya but her registered name was something a lot longer and unpronounceable ! I will defininately get into the garage and search for the box but it may take me a little while lols. I would certainly be interested to come and have a llittle peek at the litter when they arrive if that would be okay.....I am trying to find some of the old Setter people that I used to show with but the only person still around is Carolyn Pearen and I don't think she would have info on any other dogs but her own. Would be lovely to meet you and the other Northern Setter people around the rings :) hopefully sooner rather than later.

Hello Cheryl, sometimes I think it's I that should be referred too as silly never my Irish. I noticed the photo of your friends girl Relic and read that the Sire was Am Ch Pure Geniuse by Clonageera "Jason" and wondered where I'd seen that. Ruby and Poppys breeder had used the same Sire, hence where I'd seen it. I think your Irish are lovely, especially the photo of the one in there twighlight years, truly lovely. I've been told for my 50th I'm allowed a puppy hmmmm....hopefully I'll be able to still keep running around an agility ring, which I love. Take care Cheryl. Dianne & Irish

So sorry Cheryl I called your Emby a boy :( please forgive me. How wonderful that you have helped the boy on Gumtree ( my husband is verrry happy lol) I'm so very pleased I mentioned him to you, I just wanted him to get a forever home. It's quite sad when things don't work out with a new addition. I was sitting with my family tonight and we checked Gumtree and he was no longer for sale, I had mixed feelings and now I have your message. Your a gem, take care Dianne, Flame, ruby and Poppy x
