Wow, congratulations! You alone on a hochsitz in the woods at night???? You are so courageous!!!! Was it a male or female? How many kgs or cms waffenla:ge (if male)? Did it go so far with the wound? Did you sometimes use setters for track or only dachshund?
When will Andreas and Momo travel to Poland, how many days they are planning to stay? Did you make laboratory exams to know which is Momo's best day or just trust in nature?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a successful mating and healthy, beautiful pups!
Bye, Petra

61 kgs are fast enough for a big family event dinner and the meat is still tender and soft :-)!
And yes, a track expert dachshund is the best solution for searching for wounded wildboar. They are small and fast and intelligent, know the safe distance between wounded animal and them, don't risk their life needlessly (not as most terriers!)
Did you make lab. exams for Momo last year, too, that you are afraid of unsuccess? Is she a difficult girl?
Bye, Petra
P.s.: In German you use "waidmannsheil" before and after hunting, too? I mean for wishing good luck and also for congratulate?

Thanks for the short German lesson!
Why don't they stay in Warsaw for the whole period of three weeks? :-) I'm just joking but surely it would be the safest way, isn't it?

Hello Christiane.

I noticed that you had left a comment on Terry O'Learys page about D. Goshawk and that he got a A-hip. The reason that I am commenting this is because our dog is Goshawks daughter and she also have a A-hip :)
Is there a specific reason that you commented on this, is there alot of problems with HD in the IRWS breed?

Best regards
Merete

Hi. We would love to go to Dublin this weekend, but unfortunatly we are cought up with other arrangements at work and with the hunting season starting today.. Thomas and Skadi will fly to northern Norway this friday, to go hunting for 10 days. I am going to work for 10 days at a research vessel in the Barent sea, so I am quite stuck there :) Enjoy!

Dear Christiane,
It was very instructive to read your judge report from Ireland.
Thank you very much for sharing it and I'm sure it was an unforgettable experience.

Hi Christiane,
Thanks for the babelfish idea, I never used this program, but I will have a look at it on the net.
What about the puppy names? Did you find out them already? How are they?
Bye, Petra

Hi Christiane.
Thank you so much for telling us about Grainne, she is actually our dogs "aunt" :) It is always nice to hear about good results for IRWS. What type of FT was it, Lowland, Forest, Highland?
By the way, do you remember a FT judge from Norway, called Hilde Kvithyl? I think that you judged with her during your visit to Norway a couple of years ago..?
Best
Merete

I will, and she asked me to send you her regards too :) I talked with her one week ago at Elin Wittusens house (Kennel uS). She always have some good stories to tell when we are there :) And unlike you, we did actually have a close encounter with the big Moskus ox when we were there :) a scary but impressive sight, standing 150 meters away from 7 big hairy animals! It was one of the "uS" dogs that reported to us, and we thought it was grouse she had found but when we came over a small hill the dog just laid down flat (like a lion) and we looked straight at the herd. Never experienced anything like that before!

Danke, Christiane!

Rida is Redwing Outa Florida (from Kentucky and Florida, USA). You can find her pedigree at http://www.wroxhamgundogs.fsnet.co.uk/pedigreecollection.htm
The Devlins are a long, long way to the west of Rida and I.
My woodcock ended up in the freezer, and stayed there, as I was waiting for a few more before preparing for the table. Oh well!

Oh no! No sending back. Fokka must work off here the gingerbread setter and some more crimes. I don't know if she is flying but surely he could be a chief of thief's gang. Always no noise, no evidence. If there is many things to eat, she doesn't eat all of them. But once she couldn't resist the temptation. Tadeusz had a hard day and I made his favourite small chocolat cakes. Fokka left him ONE.

Thanks for the link, really lucky girl! We have had snowstorm almost all day, now the snow changes into the awful mud. And tomorrow is saturday, it means that we are going with Fokka to find some pheasants in this mud. She has changed a lot last time, isn't so crazy and finally we begin to work as a team. Thanks for the e-mail, I will try to answer soon.
